iPhone 7 may keep the headphone jack and support dual SIMs

 

cracked my ipad screen. have an appointment with the genius bar. sigh. really disappointed that i let that happen.

previously i asked for a call, and now i have to tell them i don't need the call anymore, lol. but i've been put on hold for almost 8 minutes now. awful

 

11 minutes on hold now! come on

ok i hung up, did the chat support thing, told them i don't need the call. whew.

has anyone ever got their screen replaced before? i am so nervous about this for some reason lmao

 

Got my iphone screen replaced recently at apple. Was nervous like i am with every public social situation but it went real smooth. Talked with them for about 5 mins about the crack and then came back an hour later and picked it up no problem. In and out.

 

I don't know if there's something wrong with my phone specifically or if it's because I have relatively fat fingers and I got the SE but ever since I started using this phone I have had real trouble with buttons at the top of windows near the status bar. 90% of the time I can't get the "back to previous app" button to register that I'm tapping it and I get so frustrated I end up just mashing my finger on the damn thing until it works. It's only a problem with stuff near the status bar, so I'm guessing part of my finger is hitting the status area and the phone is getting confused and thinking I'm trying to pull down the notification shade, but it's so fucking frustrating. I almost WANT it to be something wrong with my phone so I can get it fixed because if this is just the level of accuracy of the touchscreen I don't think I can live with this device.

 

Get a bigger phone lol

 

Yeah, I'd definitely say that sounds more like a finger-to-screen size ratio issue.

 

Pretty sure this has been answered in this thread a couple times but can't seem to find it.

Trying to sync my iPhone to my computer and add music to it. I used to be able to sync selected Playlists, but Apple Music and iCloud Library being turned on now prevents that. How do I sync my music to my phone from my computer and not delete all of the Apple Music on my phone?

 

Ever since I updated to the current iOS (el capitan)? I've noticed when I "save image as" the photos option no longer appears. did this happen to anyone else and is there a way to bring it back? I'm not super computer savvy

 

Before, this was solved by signing out and back into my Apple ID when it happened to me.

Problem is, I didn't have Apple Music then. I'm having the same problem happen again now, and when I signed back in all my Apple Music stuff was gone and when I try to go into my account to sign into Apple Music, it is telling me I can't connect to the iTunes Store.

So I guess short answer is this: signing out usually helps, but it didn't help me today.

 

Looked up the Apple Music issue and it's saying I have to turn the iCloud Music Library back on in settings.... Went to settings and that literally is not an available option.

There also isn't a "sign in" to Apple Music thing showing up for me, it's only "sign up" or create a new account which is weird cause I've had Apple Music for a couple months now so idk why it would just be gone.

Edit: I'm sure there's something I'm missing but everything I look up just says to turn on the iCloud music library. Not seeing a reason why it wouldn't show up.

 

I ended up rebooting my Mac and my phone, and then turned on iCloud Music Library from within iTunes. That solved it.

I hope this is true. I really miss the black iphone. Space Grey isn't much darker than Light Grey.

 

I'm really not sure how they could pull that off though, without changing material. The whole reason they introduced the space gray was to replace slate, since it had big issues with chipping. Unless they move away from anodized aluminum, I would think the same issue would apply here.

 

I could see black coming back with next year's "iPhone 8" or whatever it will be called as it is rumored to have a glass back. Not sure if I'm a fan of going back to glass though. Anyway I don't plan on getting the iPhone 7 so the return of black can wait a year in my case.

 

I'd actually love to see the iPhone go back to a glass design at some point. I'd be sure that if they do it, it will be a very high grade glass. Sure, it will still be vulnerable on drops, but I loved the glass back of the 4/4s and wouldn't mind seeing a return to it.

 

Anyone here have a 6s plus? How do you feel about the size? Is it cumbersome at all, how's it fit in your pocket, etc.

 

Ergonomically it's a garbage fire. You will struggle to accomplish the simplest tasks using it with one hand. You are putting a huge strain on your hand(s) which is actually quite bad for you.
It will fit into your pocket but everyone will know it's there, including you -- at all times.

That said, everything else about it is better than the 6s. Plus with iOS 10 the "one hand" complaint gets diminished as a lot of apps (i.e. Maps) are (re)designed around large phones and position vital functions of the app on the bottom.

 

hm, cool thanks for the info. I'm heading to finally upgrade sometime this week and it's between the 6s and 6s+, I just haven't had a chance to get to an apple store to play around with either yet.

 

Just wait the 3 months until the 7 at this point, unless you get a good deal.

 

Yeah considering that as well, just used to upgrading on the "s" release and have been pretty happy with it

 

Look, here's my thoughts on this:

The 6s is SICK. You will never be unhappy with it.

Now that said, the 7 might be even better. And if you still prefer the 6s family of phones, you'll save at least 100 bucks once the 7 drops. :)

but as I said, if you really can't wait, there's no chance in hell you'll regret a 6s (plus) I love mine to bits.

 

This is the first year where I won't be upgrading after the 2nd year. As long as my iphone 6 runs the new OS fine I'll be good.

 

I've had the iPhone 6 I have here on iOS 10 since day 1 and apart from a few bugs it performs the same as iOS 9. you're fine :)
