the new iPhone SE lacks the low–light mode in the camera right? maybe the biggest selling point for me to upgrade from my iPhone X eventually. I'm definitely interested in the 12 or whatever they call it then, especially if it is indeed riffing off of the current iPad Pro design, which is very nice.

 

Holy shit I just paid way too much for this but I’m in love lol

My only complaints (if any) in the small usage I’ve used so far:

-Not sure how build quality will last for the outer/edge parts

-Small trackpad area

-banging my fingers against the iPad when typing on the top row of letters

 

You adjust pretty quick regarding the last point. I almost never hit the iPad now.

 

that’s what I was kinda figuring would happen. It’s been a while since I’ve had a more “desktop-y” setup. The last Mac I had was a pro from 2011 and then a surface pro 4 when I had a thing for that but couldn’t swallow using windows. This hits all the check marks of what I wanted the surface to be basically

 

Oh, and media controls on the keyboard. Really wish this had it lol

 

Yeah it’s not a perfect keyboard but I really like it overall

My iPhone X was acting up and crashing each app as soon as I opened one. I decided to turn it off and in again, only now for it to be stuck at the logo screen/boot loop. Nothing I’ve looked up has been able to work so far. I guess I’ll wait for the battery to die? Ugh.

 

Just posting appreciation for the little feature that lets you open the last tab on your iPhone on your Mac. It's such a neat feature that I end up using all the time.

 

Have you tried to restore and set up as new? Sounds like some software issues? Also possible that the apps opening and closing are false touch issues and if that’s the case you’d probably qualify for the iPhone X repair extension program

 

Thanks, Drew. I guess I need to do a full recovery for a handful of reasons? I'll be losing a lot of photos, which sucks. I'm honestly mostly upset because I screenshotted like two dozen people's Clinton album meme things on Instagram and wanted to check out so many of those albums...theyre all lost to time :(

 

is iCloud photo library enabled on your device? if you have that enabled you will still get your photos back even if you restore and set up as new.

 

I don’t find the Keyboard on my MacBook Pro 2019 too annoying but I’m a tad gutted that they have just updated it with the new Keyboard, less than a year later.

 

They also doubled the storage. Darn! Oh well!

 

Who's got a good set up for docking your mbp? With all the time I'm spending at home working now, I have been looking at external monitors/keyboards/mice and either a passthrough dock or something to simply hold the laptop.

 

I've had one of these for years and it's great.

Very tempted by this new 13" MacBook Pro. It is pretty much the one I have been waiting for.

 

Anyone know if apple will take a trade-in from a phone with a cracked back? I was poking around last night, and when it asks you questions about the condition of the trade in, it only asks if the screen is cracked with no follow-up questions about the back, so idk if that means they'll give you the full amount for it since they didn't ask anything about it?

 

Yeah, I have that and the Henge Dock at the top of my list.

I'm having more difficulty finding a USB-C monitor that will work seamlessly and charge that's a decent price/quality. I'd rather not drop $400 on something that I don't *really* need.

Lastly, for keyboard/mouse, is it just best to go with Apple?

 

i'm really happy with my Lenovo P27h-10. it's a good looking usb-c monitor that I've used with a macbook pro and xps 15. i did a lot of research and it was the best price for a 27" 1440p monitor with usb-c.

the only downside is that it only charges your laptop at 45 or 60 watts. that's enough to charge up my 16" macbook pro while in use, but i notice the battery level goes down while in zoom calls. the battery might go down 5% after an hour of zooming, so not a big deal to me.

i got mine for $300, but it looks like it's been on sale for as low as $250.

have the new SE and just got my AirPods Pro today and they are wowee.

 

I have some but definitely not a lot of my camera roll.
Kind of a big bummer but maybe its good to rip the band aid off? Most of the best ones I had I posted or saved...somewhere. I was going to do this eventually when I got a new phone in the next year or two but just not as...drastically.

I found this app called PhoneRescue that seems to not do what I want, which is to get photos out from under the phone messing up. I think it was also down to like, me running out of storage space (but still a few GBs left) and it trying to auto-download the latest update.
