  1. Is there no way to add an mp3 file to your music app if it’s downloaded directly to the iPad Pro?

I finally got the energy to switch out the old slow hard drive in my 2014 Mac mini for an ssd. It’s like night and day now.

Generally speaking...how long do you guys hold onto your laptops before upgrading? I’ve had my air for 7+ years now and literally have 6 gigs of space left (granted I’m disorganized and could certainly consolidate). It seems to work fine, but the battery is pretty shot. Just not sure when to make the jump.

I had my 2012 MacBook Air until I bought the 2019 Pro. The Air is now with a friend and still runs fine, which is impressive.

I am still running my early-2011 MacBook Pro now, but I put in a SSD in 2016. Going to try to keep using it until I can't anymore.

So I never backed up my photos on my MacBook and there’s like 40k of them. So I paid for the more iCloud storage and I have plenty of space but the photos just won’t back up. I want to delete them all after backing up but I can’t get it to work. I can’t even get them on an external hard drive for some reason

  7. Nothing makes me more irrationally angry faster than trying to put on a screen protector and it’s multiplied by ten for an iPad. What an impossible bullshit goddamn task. Just wasted 3 of them including one I tried in a steamy bathroom based on a recommendation.

At least these were only $8 total. Gonna cancel that Paperlike order, I might throw the iPad through the wall if I ruin $40 worth of them..

I feel like I should trade in/donate it though :/ hmmm. Just don’t want to be entirely frivolous with the purchase. 7.5 years of life seems a solid run, though?

New iPad getting delivered this week. One of the main reasons I usually buy stuff in the store is to get them to put on on the screen protector. Absolute rip off price paid for that privilege though!

Ps paper like must be spending a fortune on advertising. Any iPad video I go on these days is sponsored by them!

I have never used a screen protector on anything. Just use a case that protects the screen if dropped

Cases only protect the screen when dropped if it lands on a flat surface. Dropping your phone on a tiny pebble is all it takes to shatter your screen. I’ve never done it, but it’s not a risk I’m willing to take with a thousand dollar device.

I use OtterBox’s edge to edge glass protector and I can’t for the life of me tell it’s even on there. Their symmetry case and that screen protector paired together are like magic, and I feel super confident my phone isn’t going to get damaged.

Debating whether to go for the Macbook Air, but I've heard there are issues with the heat and fan noises. Does anyone in here have one? Is it really a big issue? I don't do any photo or video editing.

Thought about getting the iPad Pro as a laptop but I can't justify spending $350 on the Magic Keyboard, no matter how much I really want one

My iPad Air arrived today (pencil came last week). Honestly can’t even tell that it’s a refurb aside from the fact that it said so on the box.

I have a paperlike and it’s not worth the extra $$ over any other matte screen protector imo, in fact I’m going to remove mine and replace it with an iVisor if I can find one in stock. Probably didn’t help that my Paperlike arrived with a small crease on the edge of both protectors so it’s got bubbles that can’t be removed.

I got my magic keyboard last night and I don’t think the keys will scratch the screen because the hinge is really stiff so while it does lightly touch there won’t be any sideways movement, but it might leave residue from your finger oils on the keys on the screen, which drove me fucking insane with the Smart Keyboard. I recommend buying a micro fibre cloth the size of your iPad screen and laying that between your screen and keyboard when you close it, will alleviate the need for a matte screen protector which will dull your screen display somewhat

Anyone know how to solve the Apple Music issue of a smart playlist (top 25 most played) not updating?

Rushed home from work today to try to beat UPS because I knew my magic keyboard was coming. Sitting in my kitchen on the other side of the house and heard the box hit the ground in my garage from where he threw it presumably from halfway down the driveway. I am going to chase him down if this shit is broken..lol

  18. 20 minutes or so and this is already one of my favorite Apple things I think. Gonna give it a week or two to make sure I’m good with everything/there aren’t any unforeseen circumstances I would still need it, but I can see myself using this full time and getting rid of my MacBook for sure. Right now I think the only thing I would miss is the bigger trackpad..already getting used to the smaller keyboard.

I got used to the smaller keyboard pretty quickly, which was my only worry before I ordered it.

Not sure I see the iPad Pro replacing my Air for work purposes, but definitely for every other use.

I think pretty much the only reason I still use a laptop (other than PC gaming) is to upload music files from Bandcamp into my iCloud music library, lol. All my work can comfortably be done on the iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard, though I’m finding it a bit of a challenge to get used to the placement of/smaller shift and return keys atm, which is just muscle memory

Needed to actually get a phone that had Wifi calling because the cell coverage in my house sucks and I was often missing calls / would need to be in the one spot upstairs if I knew I had a call coming. Decided to make the switch to iOs (got an iPhone 11) cause like whatever seemed like a good price point and if Apple stuff just works... idk feels like its the right move to at least spend a phone cycle on the other platform and see how it is.

so far seems pretty good. definitely think I'm gonna miss the more customizable home screen but in the grand scheme that seems pretty small. also still just getting used to navigating just with swipes without the home button. but I'm sure that'll just become second nature after a week or so.

if anyone has tips of like useful features that might not be immediately obvious or good apps to start with I'd love to hear them

So my Apple TV keeps giving me a popup multiple times a day saying I need to read new iCloud terms and services, I hit Ok, and it just takes me to my iCloud settings. I don't see any option to read the terms. Where the hell am I supposed to go from there so this damn alert stops pausing my stuff??
