The 2017 ipad pro is on sale at best buy $100 off, considering buying that.

 

Pretty much did the same thing. The new 12.9 Pro is amazing, I’m blown away by how light and portable it is for such a beast of a device. Face ID works amazingly well, too.

 

Just allow me to plug a hard drive in and I could basically only ever need an iPad Pro at this point.

 

Picking up the Macbook Air today

 

Does anyone here know if the most recent $1500 13" Macbook w/ no touchbar has the membrane under the keyboard that prevents debris from breaking it? I think the answer is no but I'm having a surprisingly hard time finding a solid answer online.

After comparing the Air and Pro I think I'd like a Pro, but I've heard a lot of horror stories about those keyboards.

 

90% certain it was not updated with it, but it is still under the "warranty/replacement" thing.

 

Thanks for the info! I wonder if you can utilize the warranty multiple times for the same machine, because I have 0 doubt I would somehow have it happen more than once haha.

My work got me a pair of AirPods since I'm in a cleanroom all day. They are wonderful and should be bundled with every phone.

 

Amazon signs a deal with Apple, will get access to its latest devices and sell them in the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan, and India

 

If they could ever get the price down they probably would. But I don't see that happening for a long while.

 

I wonder if they might consider breaking even or taking a slight loss on them if it meant moving more phones. It would be a great promotion to get people to switch, especially since other companies are starting to nix the headphone jack. I've only had them a day or so and I can't imagine ever going back or using any other wireless earbuds.

 

I think they're selling as many phones and airpods as they can make. Heh. And yeah, I could never go back. One of my favorite products in the past few years. I love those things.

 

I think it's more likely that a pair of airpods comes free with a macbook/ipad/imac purchase than a phone, like a student back to school special or something promotion-esque. my wife got a free pair of wireless beat solo2's with her macbook purchase 2 years ago.

 

but airpods are still selling like hotcakes and are frequently out of stock at stores, so, they have literally no reason to start giving them away for free lol

 

Damn I just picked up my Macbook Air today where's my free shit. Also one hour left of work then I can finally turn this bad boy on

 

anybody have any good recommendations for a Xs Max case? Finally picking one up tomorrow.

 

Apple leather case always and forever

 

Leather case for sure. Mine is beat up and worn and it still looks great. It’s saved me from several drops as well.

 

Tried the new iPads today while looking at them for the gf. I was also taking a look because I might be in a position to get one for Christmas.

Going in, I thought I'd be much more enamored with the 12.9" — screen space is king, right? But I found myself gravitating more towards the 11". So much easier to hold and I imagine a better browsing experience while lounging.

But I worry a bit about sacrificing screen space for multitasking. At the moment, the iPad Pro would primarily be a media consumption device while also being used for studying and I can see it being vital when I eventually go to law school in a couple years (if that happens lol).

This is extremely a first world problem, but I feel like Chidi deciding between the two puppies on the last episode. Screen space or better lounging experience? Will I actually use the split screen function (never had an iPad before)? I have a 2016 13" MBP w/Touchbar, do I really need the bigger iPad Pro?

(Of course, I don't need one in general, but very much want)

I don't know, just some thoughts as I try to process all of this

 

I keep trying to tell myself not to sell my MBP to get money for the 12.9...

 

While the new Pro had a lot of allure, decided to take advantage of a sale to get the old Pro and the keyboard case. Really was a hard decision but wanted to save a little money.

 

As someone who’s been through the trauma of law school, I definitely think you’d be best served by the bigger screen size for note taking and multi-tasking etc.
I’ve spent most of the time with my 12.9 so far using it as a media consumption device on the couch and honestly I think it’s a superior experience to the 10.5 pro (which is what I upgraded from) - I just rest it on my stomach/chest and it’s actually a lot easier on my arms than holding a device aloft. The only thing I would query about the 12.9 is if you’re doing a lot of travel it’s a bit cumbersome and heavy if it’s in the keyboard case and space in your bag is at a premium. No worse than lugging a laptop around but I always try and avoid that if I’m travelling for pleasure.
