Pricing on the mac mini is impressive.

Anyone got any tips on why/how to fix this? When playing songs in the music app now, instead of the normal skip to next song or previous song buttons, I only get the skip ahead 30s or rewind 30s button that show up for podcasts and audiobooks. Could this be an issue with the phone thinking the songs are podcasts or something?

Yep can confirm, went on my lunch break and was able to find an 11 inch space grey at my local apple store

  4. When you go into iTunes on your computer and pull up the songs in question, right-click on one and go to song info. Next, go to the options tab and make sure those songs are categorized as music and not something else like a podcast

Ok thanks, that's kind of what I was thinking. Do you know if I'm able to select multiple songs at a time? Hopefully won't have to go one by one. :-/

Looking for advice on the ideal computer/tablet setup for my home...

We have iPhones and old iPads, but have never had a Mac computer. Currently, we have an old pc laptop that is on its last leg so looking to upgrade and considering moving to Mac. Our general use is surfing, streaming, writing, spreadsheets, watching movies, storing music, etc. No gaming needs. We would like to integrate devices in the home to the best extent possible.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

how many devices do you need or how many people would be sharing one device? my go-to recommendation for your needs would be the new ipad Pro, i almost wish my macbook was a year or two older than it is so i could sort of justify converting completely over to ipad and ditching the laptop completely.

Thank you. We have two main users. The new device would be shared, but mostly used by me. The other user would likely continue to use her existing iPad most of the time.

i'd absolutely recommend the new ipad pro then if it's in your budget

  10. Yeah iPad Pro would be good for that. Or a MacBook Air. Doesn’t seem like a MacBook pro is needed with that workload. Save the money.

Does it need to be portable?

I definitely need some level of portability. I’d be open to a desktop/iPad combo if that is the best integrated setup. Might change my mind when sticker shock sets in.

Loving my new iPad Pro/Keyboard Folio/Apple Pencil combo. It’s really just so convenient.

  13. Gotcha. Was just curious if the Mac Mini would be an option, it's very not portable though. Heh.

  15. I'm in the "what else can I sell to make this iPad Pro a little cheaper to convince the fiancé" mode myself. Heh. If I can get it down to only costing me $350 out of pocket, I think that's a win.

Haha that’s exactly what I did. Sold my old iPad/case/keyboard/pencil, finally used decluttr to get rid of some old CD’s & DVD’s, a couple vinyl, a couple games - ended up only spending like $400 on it all and justified the purchase.

if anyone's selling a 10.5" i may be in the market. I'm sure once i see the 11" in person i'll salivate but id like a bit more screen space from my 9.7 and funds are quite limited.

Sold my 10.5 inch Pro and my MacBook Pro and got the 12.9 inch. This might be the best device I’ve ever owned. Had the 1st gen 12.9 and it was just awkward to use. This is exactly what I need to be my one device. MacBook Pro was overkill for my needs and the 10.5 inch just felt too small.

  22. Sold the MacBook on Craigslist and the iPad Air on Mercari. Combined two devices into one.

First impressions are really good. It’s definitely faster than my MacBook was. :crylaugh:

  23. Just cloned a git repository, made a quick change to a site, pushed it back up, SSH’d in to the server, deployed, went to grab a beer, came back and watched the iPad unlock with FaceID and ... uh ... I think I’m in love.

    Very cool.
