  1. Really wonder how much work I could do on the iPad and if I ever need a laptop anymore.

$799 for the base 11 inch iPad pro. Ouch that stings haha

  6. I’ve been laptop-less for almost a year now, and I think the iMac in the basement (primarily for recording, canonical iTunes library, Plex server, etc), iPad everywhere else setup is great.

  7. It would come down to how fast I can post news/copy paste. And making a workflow for a few things. Drafts has made it way easier.

The new Air looks great, and also makes the 12" MacBook pretty useless in the Mac lineup. I'm kind of surprised they didn't just discontinue it.

  9. Those Intel chips in the Air have ... had issues. I wanna see some benchmarks and reviews.

Truly never understood the need for that laptop.

I have had an Air since 2012-2013ish. It has been such an incredible beast. In all that time all it needs is a new battery. I may finally be ready to move on to the next one.

Yeah, imo it's always been an oddball, but at least it felt like it had some kind of place in the lineup before. Never understood why they didn't just update the Air. My guess is they wanted to stay in the sub-$1k market for laptops, thus the cheaper Air stayed around for longer than it should have. To be honest, between the new Air and the 11" iPad Pro, I find no compelling reason to even keep the 12" around.

  13. Best laptop I've ever owned. I love that thing.

  14. The bigger, way better screen in that size and weight are absolutely incredible.

(I owned the 11" Air before moving to the 12" MacBook.)

i love mine, at the time i think it was meant to provide a MBP experience for cheaper, back when the Air still didn't have retina display. i dont foresee myself upgrading any time soon from it.

  19. My hope is that by the time I need to get a new laptop, I won't need a laptop and I can replace it completely with an iPad.

I don't travel much anymore, so the need for a portable Mac ... is slowly fading.

I just love the platform so much though and I'm way more productive on it.
