    it is pretty click baity

Did have a pretty interesting side-by-side of iTunes in 2003 and 2015, showing just how little has changed over the course of a decade.

I've never really had many problems with iTunes in the years I've been using it. Apple Music has been an issue in the past year, but not iTunes itself.

I've never had problems with load times or anything, but the tagging used to be wildly inconsistent, still is a bit wonkier for soundtracks and albums with tons of features I guess.

Also a bit weird there is zero support for FLAC files as well.

  9. Maybe it's because I grew up with it or the fact that I've basically always used it on a Mac, but iTunes never really gave me any problems until Apple Music launched.

didn't realize itunes was so reviled. i open it, click the music, and it plays; never really had a problem aside from all its storage. I've had my gripes, especially with apple music, but i've largely had a good experience. plus, I think its album view is terrific, strongly disagree with that point :P

I've never had any major issues with iTunes. It took me a while to get used to tagging my songs and organizing them the way I like, but that was probably 10 years ago and it's second nature now. I have to say I have had some issues with songs being organized inconsistently between views in the new iTunes - artist and album sometimes show things slightly different from one another, but it's nothing that tweaking the info doesn't fix.

I hate to sound ignorant but, honestly, I just don't know anything different.

As far as Apple music, I just use an app called "Cesium" for my music player on my iPhone instead. It's essentially the same as using the default music player from like 2009, with some great queue and playlist editing built in. Might be worth a look from anyone who hates all the Apple music ads and links.

  14. I've had it with Chrome. Too many bugs with things I need and use on a daily basis. I'll keep it installed and use it for dev work when I need to but I am really sick of it.

  15. Safari is my go-to browser. Just so much easier for 90% of what I do online. On a rare occasion I'll load up Chrome up if a video player or something doesn't work well with Safari, but most of the time I barely touch it.

I'm all about chrome though the memory leaking is pretty insane.

I recently switched to Safari and while I do have a few issues here and there, it's been solid for me.

  18. Yeah, that's what I moved to. I was having daily issues with things as basic as the spell checking just no longer working or highlighting a word and using the "look up" feature for the dictionary not working. Like two kinda important things for my job. So I spent the morning and made the move to Safari. Couple little things I wish it did differently, but I'm pretty ok with the switch so far.

Yeah. They've added a lot of things Chrome had like the pinned tabs and showing which tab is playing music and allowing you to one-click mute it which is GREAT.

  20. Yep, with the exception of a few little config things I needed to fine, it was a pretty good switch.

I do wish Favicons showed in browser tabs, however. That's really like the one thing I miss.

Yeah. I only get the favicon on a pinned tab, which is nice, but I do wish they just had them on all of them. I think you or someone else here had sent me a hack for it when I initially mentioned switching, but it seemed way more complicated than I wanted to deal with haha.

  22. Yeah, I looked into it as well and it is kind of a pain in the ass to do. I already jumped through hoops just to change the icon to match my other dock icons, so I decided it wasn't worth it.

Yeah I was using LiteIcon for that or something but I think with El Cap it stopped working?

  24. Yeah, for system icons you have to disable the System Integrity Protection. So you have to reboot, turn it off, log in, change your icons, reboot, turn it back on. Kind of a pain in the ass, but I want my icons to match dammit.

Haha yeah, these are my current ones: Dropbox - Screenshot 2016-04-30 21.04.56.png

So not too many that don't match. I have Reeder changed, but every time I open the app it reverts back until I close it again. Very weird.
