Found a deal on Ebay I couldn't pass up for a 2010 Mac Mini. I've always wanted to play around with Plex and use a Mini as a media server, so this should be fun!

Yes! I tried it this weekend too. I'll be using this a lot now that I know it's available.

Best feature is that unlike with your phone, when you remove the AirPods whatever you're watching doesn't pause it just immediately goes to the TV audio.

TouchID + 1Password on the MBP w/touch bar is so sleek. I use it every day and it's still so cool

Already set up everything, except for Vudu, which is having some issues that should be fixed at some point today.

Nice. Was going to link iTunes and Vudu later this afternoon and check out that "get five movies free" deal. Hopefully the selection is good!

Edit: Actually see it's the five movies from the graphic.

Long time spotify user, giving apple music a try. First impressions are mixed. I like some things but the playlists and recommendations of new tunes and artists is pretty lacking compared to Spotify. Maybe it gets better as it continues to learn more of my tastes. But there weren't many playlists in some of my favorite genres and I noticed a couple hadn't been updated in 2 years. Thoughts?

if you're looking for playlists and recommendations, apple music is not your best bet. if you're looking for better organization of your library and a more album focused approach apple music wins

Yeah that's where I'm torn. I'm very much an album focused person, but I listen to playlists on Spotify so I can discover new artists I like and then go download the full album.

  10. The playlists have been getting pretty good. The custom Chill playlist is almost always full of good stuff.

My only complaint about the playlists is that they keep putting Better Off on my favorites despite hitting the dislike button on their songs.

the playlist thing isn't that important to me anyways because they generally post bands that have some more association and are a little bigger and i generally know them

i miss lastfm radio a lot, that was truly the best for digging into old underground bands

  14. My favorite's mix right now is pretty good ...

seems bad, there isn't a brand new or 1975 song on there, definitely not representative of you

Ever since the big update, when I get in my car, Maps doesn’t automatically pop up and tell me how long it’s going to take me to get home (or where I usually go from a certain address). Is there anyway to turn that on? Also autocorrect has really been bugging me. I‎t seems to have regressed to me. It’s capitalizing the stupidest shit and doesn’t recognize hardly if the words or spellings I usually use.

  18. After a few weeks trying it out, I love iOS 11 on the iPad. Been using it even more than usual on the couch lately. I’ve had to rework my entire home screen and dock, but it’s been worth it and now so much easier to multitask and find what I want.

I think there’s some obvious changes and easy changes to make it even better. But for now? Huge fan of the direction. Well done.

agreed on all counts but there is one thing that really bugs me; is there a way to open an app in split view/slide over thats not already on the dock? previously you could just scroll through all the apps that supported it but not anymore

  20. Totally agree, it’s great although I’d tweak a few things. But it’s really made me use my iPad a lot more.

iOS 11 has been much more stable on my iPad Air 2 than my iPhone 7, as well.

  21. You can use spotlight. It’s why I tweaked my dock to add a folder with a bunch of apps I use most often in that manner. I think they should add a spotlight search to the multitasking screen though.

  22. Also Yoink is a great slide over/dock app for the iPad. Great little shelf to drag and drop too.

  23. It’s so good. I only bring my iPad to class a lot of the time now.

Finally decided to go ahead and purchase Airpods. Fit perfectly, so that's a relief.
