@Jason Tate thought this would be a better place to ask, but saw in the gen politics thread you had launcher but looked like you had a tipping calculator app? Does that come with launcher?

 

That app is Launch Center pro, I have it set to run a Workflow to ask for bill $ and then calculate the tip and display it. You can use the Workflow app itself to create your own standalone Tip Calculator "app" — I just like having it on my homescreen for easy access.

I can't figure out what type of Bluetooth headphones to get for my iphone 7. There's so many to choose from. I'm looking for on ear or over ear, around the $100 range...maybe slightly more.

One annoying thing with Apple Music: some songs from my iTunes library got matched as the clean versions even though I have the explicit versions on my laptop. Just noticed this with P.O.S - "Drumroll."

So I'm looking into getting a MacBook for college soon. I'm probably going to wait until the new MacBooks get released then go for a 2015 MacBook since they'll probably be cheaper. But I can't decide if I want a MacBook Pro or MacBook Air... any help? All I'll be doing is writing a lot, editing audio podcasts, and maybe doing light editing on videos. Also, does anyone have any idea on if the 2015 MacBooks will lower in price with the new ones? And by how much?

 

Don't buy the old MacBook air. They haven't been updated in forever, it's non-retina, there's really no reason to get one of those models.

 

Definitely go for the pro if you have the money, those things last years. I have a 2013 model and really have no desire to upgrade for a couple more years because it's still smooth and has handled software updates extremely well. Otherwise, the 12 inch Macbook is a good alternative to the Macbook Air if you don't mind the USB-C because like the person above said, the Air is just not worth it.

 

how much do we think the 2015 pros are going to drop in price once these come out? i really need a new computer (been five and a half years with mine) and i'm starting to think through my options

My GF ordered the plus 2 weeks ago though and she isn't supposed to get hers until November 30th.

 

I'm pretty decided against the Apple Watch, just don't want to drop that kind of money right now but I still do want/need a heart rate monitor/fitness tracker. I have my eye on the Fitbit Charge 2. Anyone have recommendations?

 

I use this app. Cardiio - Heart Rate Monitor + 7 Minute Workout Exercise Routine for Cardio Health and Fitness on the App Store
you put your index finger on the camera and it detects heart rate. it is accurate as i compared it with an actual heart rate monitor i was wearing. when i'm at the gym i just quickly turn the app on for ten seconds to see where my heart rate is at. it uploads the readings to health as well.

 

I got a new 12 inch MacBook in May and it's an incredible machine. Highly recommend.

 

I've been using a similar app and didn't find it to be all that great. I'll give this one a go!

 

Alright, so I think I'll go for one of the 2015 MacBook Pro's. I don't really see the point in getting one of the MacBook's if they're the same price as the Pro. I don't know too much about the hardware or anything lol I just want one that's gonna work super well and last for some time

random thought: Apple makes it very clear that iMessages sent to other Apple products are blue and if they're not they're green.

shouldn't we have a blue iMessage icon now?
