Apple's stock photos of the matte black are so inaccurate. Much darker in-hand.

 

Having a real time trying to get UPS to release my phone since it was addressed to my girlfriend..ugh

 

Totally agree. I'm really happy with my matte black.

 

I ordered the jet black, then when I saw it in person I was pretty shocked by how dark the matte black was, so I ended up switching my order.

 

After literally 3 hours of bullshit at UPS I finally have my phone.

Anyone know if Verizon can include my name on shipping labels from now on? The account is in my girlfriend's name but I'm listed as an account manager.

Edit: Just pulled it out of the package and it's Black not Jet Black like I could swearrrrr I ordered. I'm annoyed beyond belief on one hand because of the nightmare that was getting it, but on the other I'm sort of relieved...lol.

 

Am I going crazy or is there no way to turn off shuffle in playlists in the new Apple Music?

Trying to set up my dictation to start Siri in MacOS, but the damn thing never responds to my key phrase. Am I missing something here? I enabled and installed enhanced audio, enabled dictation, gave it the key phrase "Hey", and told it to open "Siri.app" whenever I say "Siri".

It'll work for like 1 minute after I set it up, and then stops. Sometimes disabling and re-enabling the "Enable the dictation keyword phrase" gets it going, but not every time. >_>

It's definitely a Dictation issue and not Siri

 

anyone else's first impression of iOS 10 not good? unlocking the phone is annoying, message notifications are distracting, and i actually really dont like the Apple Music update. i want my library on the right side of the screen...

 

You can change that in the settings.

General > Accessibility > Home Button > Rest Finger to Open

 

So are the speakers on the 7/7+ really 2 times louder than that of the 6s?

 

It now has 3 speakers playing music as opposed to 1. I'm sure that claim will be debunked of actually 2x but yes it will be louder.

 

I read that one of those speakers isn't actually a speaker, when they tore down all the components that was one of the key things they found.

 

The speaker output on one side of the phone literally doesn't connect to any wiring or anything and appears mostly to be for symmetrical design

 

My understanding is the one speaker is on the bottom (as it was before) and the second speaker is in the microphone used for the phone.

 

Where did you hear 3 speakers? I has two speakers, one on the bottom in the usual spot and one in the earpiece where the speaker for voice calls has always been, pretty sure it's the same speaker for both. There is a third amp in the phone but I think that's for analog out over lightning not a third speaker, though I'm still not 100% sure on that.

I wonder if Apple will change the display of Apple Music?

 

Having bluetooth issues on my 7 Plus. Choppy music through headphones and car adapter. Looks like others are experiencing similar issues as well.

 

I actually experienced this choppy-ness for the first time this morning. Hopefully it's just a software thing that they fix soon

 

I don't find the sound quality that much improved with these speakers really, just louder, which is fine with me. I rarely listen to music over speaker anyways.

What I do find a strange is the speaker behind the front ear piece. I noticed when I'm using it the screen just kind of vibrates, and feels weird if I go to do something with my finger on the screen. Those times will be rare though.

 

Listened to an hour long podcast through my Bluetooth headphones this morning and didn't notice any choppiness.

The only time I ever really experienced choppiness with my 6s was while cutting the grass and I always just chalked that up to the constant movement.

Side note. I really regret not going with the Plus from the get go on the 6. Especially with how fat my fingers are..haha.

 

Is anyone here planning on buying the AirPods next month? The more I have thought about it, the more I have wanted them, but I don't know if I can justify the $159 price tag.

 

Off topic, but how do you cut the grass and listen to music? Does your mower not have a gas motor? I use ear plugs when I cut the grass haha.

 

I wish they had mad them with like a regular removable tip so I could replace them with something that actually fits in and would stay in my ears. All of the gesture controls looks really good but that design has never fit my ears right and I'm not paying $160 for something I'll lose in a week
