More and more as I use Liquid Glass, I see this only as a change for change's sake. It doesn't really shake anything up.

you don't really "ship" a beta product

 

lol installing a dev preview day one beta and pretending it was “shipped” is next level

 

Hahaha, come on. They will obviously tweak a lot of this. Hence the dev preview for feedback. We've been here many times before over the years...

but also marketing materials are products and they shipped these marketing materials, sooo…

 

The notifications are the one that bugs me the most. They’ll tweak things, sure, but I stand by this feels like change for change’s sake and it’s not great.

 

the pet peeve for me (and perfect example of change for change sake) is how they always change how the weather is presented on your home screen and each year it’s described as a change in the new name of efficiency somehow but at the end of the day it’s just weather lol. personally I miss when it was a short sentence, couldn’t tell ya what iOS it was.

 

this is going to destroy my muscle memory

 

And never actually improve the data sourcing or anything.

I’ll say this, some of the uhhhh rhetoric around a limited release aimed at developers is a little harsh.

they still have 3 months to iron stuff out and going “wow how did this ship?” Is premature. Because it didn’t.

there’s real life people working on this and knowing apple this is the first time a lot of people are seeing their work in context.
