It's gotten a little better recently but up until a year or two ago, if you didn't pick in the Top 20---you probably weren't getting much that was going to help you.

Ok, that might be a little extreme but the drafts really weren't good outside of the Top 40 or so.

Maybe it has gotten a bit better, I didn't play madden last year so I wouldn't know for sure. I remember just seeing a lot of top league talent being significantly lower in OVR than they should be in past Franchises.

I could be over-valuing his 88 speed since it costs a lot of XP to improve, but Alexander is pretty close to a couple of my CB's.

He is good tho.

 

I would caution you to not put much stock into OVR---it can be VERY deceiving. It's important to pay more attention to specific attributes for the position since OVR tends to be dragged down by certain attributes that, while important, aren't has important if you are user'ing a guy, for instance.

If you run a 4-3 defense and have a 72OVR DE with 85SPD/87ACC/82FMV/76BSH---that's a pretty good DE that you can attempt to user and shed blocks with despite the overall suggesting he's not very good.

Like that trade I just approved that wasn't going over well with most here---there is nothing that jumps out at him being great but his coverage attributes are better than some corners---that's big and Kevin knows it.

Makes since. As long as blocks are posted, people know who is available. No excuses for someone saying they didn't know a player was available, and no more flooding the thread with talks about the man that Jim Schwartz hates.

 

I'll send you an offer when I take a good look at both of our rosters. I'm not sure what they changed about the XP system, but I always felt it was easy to adjust the mcv/zcv/awr etc.

Can't (cheaply) change speed tho, so with someone that's good at usering, is how im gauging his value.
