me logging on to chorus.fm the modern version of absolutepunk dot net to criticize something as being done before
I mean it’s a valid criticism? I don’t necessarily agree — I do like this album a lot — but it feels analogous to the RFC/No Sleep wave of releases a decade ago
Bands and albums can be good without bringing anything new to the table. For some it’s more of a deterrent than others. It’s really not that big of a deal lol
y’all are so weird sometimes. same people saying “this is so much like title fight pre-floral green” are like “you can say stuff feels like a retread” please get real. enjoy the album. i don’t. who cares.
because it’s a big album? this is the only site on the internet where people foam at the mouth over criticism lol.
I actually am sick of the toxic positivity in the music forums. If you say anything remotely critical of a band/album the next post is almost guaranteed to be a dumb gif or a glib one-word response. It's a bit shitty to not be able to talk about music critically, because you're pressured to just fanboy over it. It would be nice if people either ignored the critical posts or if they want to say something about it that they actually use their words.
I mean, if you want actual criticism. It's not a perfect album by any means. I think it lacks a solid lead single and can sound a bit samey at times. As someone mentioned previously, it feels a lot like a stepping stone to something greater on their next album.
i agree with that, even the last sentence, and don’t think saying it feels like it’s been done before is an iota more “harsh” but people are gonna be freaks
Two absolute bangers from Revelation this year: Praise and Be Well Although, both of those bands have more hardcore in them than Anxious. All fantastic bands.
Dig this a lot, but I still think Never Better + the 2019 Promo is probably a better release for me as a whole. Stony Brook is a great track.
Fall tour with Oso Oso and M.A.G.S. Would expect them to be added to all the dates once their current US tour finishes:
This seems like a major downgrade (in terms of venues/popularity) for them to go from being the only opener on a co-headliner with Bayside/Thrice to not even being the direct support for Oso Oso. No disrespect to Oso Oso but my guess is Anxious could headline Mahalls themselves pretty easily.
Yeah they headlined mahalls in november, opened for knuckle puck at hob in march, opened for Boston Manor at mahalls in may and then just opened for Bayside at HOB lol Nonstop touring lol
I think it’s mostly about playing to different and more mainstream crowds. Their headline shows and tours before this have mostly been with hardcore bands. I think it’s about growing their reach and crossing over to other genres and listeners.
