I feel bad for those not finding any hooks in this album, cause I'm over here catching whales with all the hooks I got.
The only hook I’ve noted so far is the chorus on In April and it’s entirely evocative of 2012 Neck Deep which is a vibe I don't really get down with anymore. Based on the sympathies I'm receiving - I'm sure all of everyone's enthusiasm for this release isn't ill-founded. I'll listen to it some more this morning while grinding through some reports for work.
Go further back. This is way more 2001-2002 than it is 2011-2012. It's pulling from a lot of those same influences as 2012-era ND, or early Title Fight, but it's actually good.
Garden Variety was a great band. Speaking of Damnation AD, the singer's brother was in a band called Ashes. Worth checking out if you haven't already.
Yeah, I think they were trying to convey that they deviated from their traditional hardcore bands into something more accessible like CIV. Three members of Gorilla Biscuits were also in CIV. To a newcomer it’s not a big deal but a person who is invested in hardcore would pick that up. Simple mistake.
Totally. I think it's great that they mentioned all of those bands. It's good to look back and see what people might have missed
Got the board book version of the Call From You 7" today, and it came out great. I'm not sure how much my 2 year old will appreciate the poetry though, but I know he'll like the pictures.
Finally clicking with this, this is going to be a staple as the weather warms! but it feels like this album is a stepping stone and their next album is going to be particularly huge
this feels like something i would have loved 10 years ago, but at this point it feels very Done Before and not something I'm very interested in at all
