This sounds nothing like either Knuckle Puck or Tiny Moving Parts and is closer to early Turnover and Title Fight
yeah i’m not gonna pretend to be super well-versed in that scene of bands, but title fight was what originally jumped out to me
I let it play through again — I really like a lot of the bass playing here and the overall variety in sound. But I do wish it were a little hookier or something, it feels like there are a lot of spaces where nothing all that special is happening that maybe the vocals should be carrying
This is very very good. Grabbed the green/creme variant after playing it 5 times today. Little throwback while still feeling extremely fresh at the same time. Pop-punk at times but adding in that little twinkle and extra energy into some of the tracks really helps it flow. Going to be in my playlist for a while.
This is really good. Title fight mainly in the guitars, but I also get some Better Off - Milk era in some of the guitars. I hear TMP in the vocals too. Just a cool amalgamation of what emo/punk/pop punk was doing in the early 2010s. Like everyone else is saying, closer is beautiful. EDIT: sorry for mentioning some problematic bands, those were just what came to my mind initially.
I don’t hear that much, but I did just think of Man Overboard if they were good singers, specifically during Growing Up Song.
Scream-y vocals with energetic riffs behind it reminds me of TMP, but it sounds like people are tired of comparisons, so
Yeah I don’t think it sounds like either of those bands, but doesn’t sound quite like Title Fight either. I enjoyed this album way more than I expected.
I really dig this. This kind of 2010 throwback to bands like Title Fight, Citizen, early Turnover, is extremely my kind of thing. This is probably the best throwback to that sound I have heard in a while.
