This reminds me of TSSF at times with melody construction, along with Transit/Misser with the harmonies and call and response style vocals. Sprinkle in a little Title Fight and it makes for a great 2010s throwback album for me.
We have 60-degree temps forecast for next week. Sunder is going to hit on that first windows-down drive.
I really enjoy this upon first listen. I never found myself totally coming back to Little Green House as much I thought I would when it came out, but so far feeling this one a ton more
They low-key cooked with this packaging. Matte finish, gatefold with spot gloss and emboss, poster insert and a yellow inner jacket.
Bummed I missed the RFC exclusive, hoping they're rationing out the tour exclusive press per show so I can grab one in April.
Really enjoyed this. There are so many inspirations that I can click on to like TSSF, Title Fight etc but I can't get over that intro to 'Sunder' sounding very Mastersystem, I'll need to relisten to that album and pick out the exact song.
The guitars on this sound soooo good. I didn’t realize until listening that Brett Romnes did this record, who’s work I really admire with other bands like Jail Socks and Hot Mulligan. No doubt he captured these songs in a really special way I’m on my second listen now and can’t really say the record is immediately wowing me like I hoped it would after Counting Sheep, which I think is very easily the stand out, but I do love Audrey Go Again and Next Big Star too. Gonna be a fun album to spend time with
This might be a stretch, but Tell Me Why reminds me sooo much of Brighten. Like a pop punk Brighten haha
