Pittsburgh show was great. Tiny bar and Anthony going fuckin crazy the entire time. Also was really cool to see Geoff play. I still haven’t seen Thursday so that’s as close as I’ve come
Setlist looks to be the same every night. 16 solo songs, 2 Circa (Get Out and Holding Someone's Hair Back) and 1 Saosin (Seven Years)
Glad people are enjoying him but I saw some videos from last night and am glad I didn’t go. I just do not think he sounds good solo.
I saw a lot of videos and would've loved it! Get Out solo might be a little weird (he eventually goes off at the end at least), but I'd still definitely love to see it
not a huge solo ant guy but the cleveland show was great. really good band; it was cool seeing keith and dude from maps & atlases
He knows that lady spent her money to see what she hears on CD, and missing the show might not kill the soul but it will make it harder, so he’s willing to reimburse her. You can’t be a stone-hearted man.
Wild to see a tweet involving Anthony blow up that way lol. Folks at r/popculturechat were all posting about it too.
I got the So Long, Avalon book in the mail today. He talks a little about the songs that are not love songs.... of course. Not sure I needed 2 pages on Springtime Out the Van Window. Feels like he is definitely making it a choice to not discuss anything related to the "love" songs of his. Doesn't talk about: She Loves Me So, Stonehearted Man, Baby Girl, Slowing Down, First Day of Work. Says a little about the other songs. The only thing of interest I really took from it was that Drug Dealer is partly about Keith.
I was a little salty that the AG/Kurt Travis/Geoff Rickly tour didn't come over here but man this makes up for it
Saw him the other night. Was a really great show overall.... the entire setlist made me smile. If you like Avalon/Boom Done I would recommend it. East Coast Winters version was so heavy compared to the released versions. Found a video of it online:
Really bummed I missed this tour but it is what it is. I've seen Anthony and Geoff so many times at this point that I'm not giving myself a hard time about it. I also understand I'll likely see each of them loads more times. I'll survive. (I'm coping).
Verse & Vinyl New Anthony Green vinyl form his let's start a band project and also a storybook 7" thing inspired by old Disney read alongs.
The highs on this album are extremely high, and most of the rest is still good. Dear Child is the only version I think is bad, but there are more than a few I think are amazing. She Loves Me, Slowing Down and Devil's Song are all very cool versions that I think do something new without being too wildly different. Baby Girl and Microscope Store getting added sections are phenomenal, I really love that he expanded on what these songs are that we have had for so long. Lastly, Springtime is truly amazing, that last 30 seconds or so is INSANE, but fuck it's way too short
