My copy of Avalon arrived. Still feel insane paying over $35 for a single LP, but there's not many records I would do that for and this is one of them. Shouts out to this thread. Just wish it had the original artwork. Stoked on the variant.
this is pretty cool if definitely unfinished sounding. almost feels like a more downbeat/serious Fuckin Whatever? thanks for sharing, always nice to hear more Ant stuff
Definitely nailed the Devil's Song! From his IG post on the song: I wrote Devils Song about the unintended consequences that come with getting what you wish for. The end of the song and the lyrics, “This feels like a nightmare we’re all in the same spot” came to me while I was trying to record a demo of this song and it was the type of thing where I woke up in the morning and listened back and didn’t remember singing it or writing it. Throughout the years, I closed a lot of sets with this song, and singing “we’re all on the same spot” with so many people has brought immense peace and joy into the experience of sharing live music energy with a crowd. I feel like it has made me closer to my audience.
My vinyl label has been created. Born Losers always prints labels hella early though... would love to get it early.
well, holy shit, this rules in every way. Slowing Down new version is so damn good. But honestly, it's all great. Springtime being half as long works a lot better. Califone being slowed down. Baby Girl expanded is a treat. Same for Microscope. Dear Child now fits into the album as a whole better with the shared sound. Doesn't feel like such an outlier.
I thought I'd like this a lot more based on the two tracks initially released but I'm not sure. Need more time with it.
I missed his last show in Pittsburgh as my car battery randomly died at a gas station halfway there. Stoked for this.
