Same. Think they will all go out in time for the street date. Sounds like it sold well based on the MemMusic email. Which is awesome
I still think this is a really good album. He definitely has a core sound that he likes to stick to, but he adds in sparse acoustic tracks (Will It Be, Cellar) and more experimental songs (Dawn in the Canal, I'm Sorry...) to break it up. I also think the instrumentation and Anthony's singing/melodies keep the songs interesting and engaging even if they aren't necessarily complex arrangements. At this point I just love to hear Anthony sing over anything.
im looking forward to the lyrics on this. anthony's story has immensely helped me on my own journey to sobriety.
I can absolutely relate to his story. I've been clean for 18 months now. I never thought I'd be able to be this happy. Congrats on your sobriety though!
I got my first order of my vinyl on Saturday, spun the record, but for some reason I didn't see any lyrics included with it.
Damn, mine still hasn't even shipped. I have a CD and one of /500 variants, hopefully the CD has lyrics if the vinyl doesn't.
Yeah, I was surprised, it was here on Saturday, but I got an email it shipped out on Friday, I don't think that was accurate. I ordered 2 cause I accidentally bought the wrong variant. So then I paid for the bundle to get the cool looking campfire vinyl.
This is what my email said, this was on Friday, it was at my door on Saturday. "Great news, your order containing Anthony Green - Pixie Queen has shipped! Your order number and the tracking number for you package are posted at the bottom of this message for your convenience. Please note that, due to the large number of orders we received for this record, we will be sending out bulk shipments every day leading up until the release date. If you try to track your package and see something like "not found" or "pre-shipment status", that just means that your order is still in the packing queue and has not been scanned by USPS yet. As soon as they scan the package, you'll be able to track it."
Huh, so really my order could have shipped already, or it could not ship until Friday. Weird. I guess this is the first big release Memory Music has done though so I can't really fault them if the roll out is a little off. Did any kind of insert or anything come with the vinyl?
Some type of code came with it, pretty sure it's the download code, other then that, nothing. Unless I somehow missed the lyric sheet which I don't think I did.
You can check the status of your order. Just go to the order confirmation email and there will be a link.
Huh, weird. Ah well, I'm sure someone we'll get the lyrics soon enough. I check that page religiously. Been stuck on "pre-order payment received" since the beginning though.
Man, it's always a little disappointing when pre-orders don't show up by release date. Mine hasn't even been shipped yet, just has had it's label created so I'm looking at early next week at the best for arrival.
That's a cool interview. I think it's interesting that this album was very much a collaboration with Will rather than a bunch of songs Anthony already had prepared. I can also relate to what Anthony said about wanting to become more proficient on guitar, as I'm definitely in the same position with my chops, haha. Oh, and hell yeah to the Julien Baker shoutout.
For some reason, someone put Pixie Queen as 2xlp on Discogs. I don't have my record yet, but that's definitely not true, right?
