It's definitely mostly the same recording but there's some differences. Listen to the first 10-15 seconds, the first guitar strum alone is noticeably different. I think they just touched up a few things when he was making the album.
I don't even think he took Avalon very seriously himself, which is kind of what I like about it. I remember reading an interview with him back then where he said he had all these songs that he had written that he wasn't serious about, but his wife wanted him to record them, so he did just for her.
I was listening to some On Letting Go earlier and I really hope he uses that a lot on this album and the next Circa record after getting all his aggression out in Saosin.
every so often i swap in the GOW one for the album, but mostly i leave it as is. I love both versions
Dear Child and Plays Pretty for Baby have a really unique and nice sugary quality to them. Different than everything else he's done. Always thought it would be cool to hear some more tracks like that
yeah I don't remember being in to it except for with Plays Pretty. maybe I'll listen again it has been a long time
I really need to revisit Avalon soon. I remember really enjoying it a few years ago. Dear Child is one of my favorite Anthony songs.
Man, I was hoping we'd get more album info and a song by now. This is my most anticipated release of the year. Haha
