Idk why I've never really followed his solo career. Been listening to Would You Still Be In Love and Pixie Queen more lately and they're both very solid.

 

I also totally forgot about the Saosin album from 2016 or whenever. Had some great songs from what I remember I gotta give that one another go.

 

Beautiful Things is my favorite

It's really good

 

Beautiful Things is the one I actually know pretty well, so also my favorite by default. And then a little Avalon and I pretty much stopped there until the last couple weeks.

And ya I remember loving Illusion & Control from Saosin but don't remember much else about it. Excited to give it another go

 

Young Legs def deserves more love. Avalon remains my fave, but that would be second for me.

Oh ya I just listened through this one. If I heard it before, I didn't remember it, but this is really really great.

 

The bonus tracks from Young Legs are top tier. Song with Chino and a song Nate Ruess

I only discovered this the other day from this year's Swanfest, but it's fantastic. An acoustic-y 'Seven Years' with Kurt Travis and Donovan Melero.

 

Every single off this album is so good. I just immediately had to listen to Center of it all 3 times in a row this morning and then immediately preordered haha also- whoever’s idea it was to do so many horns on this album is brilliant

 

Lol this song is extremely good

 

This album is gonna rule.

 

What an amazing song, I actually can't believe how stoked I am for this album.

 

Thinking I might avoid this one for now, or maybe just listen once. Worried I'm gonna rinse half the album before it's even out

 

Same for me, but I couldn't avoid the new ones so far - all are great! No more for me from now on till the whole album drops hahh!

July 22nd feels really far away. I’m gonna burn out these singles for sure.

 

The Anthony and Nate Ruess track is so unbelievably good, but totally makes sense to be a bonus track because it doesn't really fit the vibe of anything else Anthony has done, but fuck is it good

 

That album has never connected with me. Just listened to it again and still nothing. Noticed Photo Finish had song meanings videos up with Anthony on their YT page for that album and every song is like, "I stole this idea." or "I don't remember how this song came about." or "I was fighting with Meredith a lot... " Clearly was made at the height of his addiction.

 

It was not made during his addiction, as that popped up later in 2012. Beautiful Things was written over the course of a few years, dating back to the writing sessions for BSN in 2009. There were/are some videos out there that the band released during the writing and recording sessions for BSN where Anthony is sitting around singing and playing on an acoustic guitar and some ideas that didn't end up on BSN actually ended up on Beautiful Things. It definitely wasn't an album that was created in a short time period.

 

There are some really strong moments on Beautiful Things and some others that don't quite do it for me.
