It sounds like a balancing issue ultimately, studios need to find a balance between physical and CGI to create a better rounded view. Otherwise you get the SW prequels or the recent DC films.

 

Also the way they treat the CGI artists is fucking terrible. Low pay and way overworked.

 

The cool thing about super heroes to me personally is the idea that it's something extraordinary in an ordinary world and while it's cool sometimes to see all these fantastical worlds some of the worlds/CGI make it seem so beyond logic that it takes me out of it.

 

The first two Ant-Man films were all shot in Atlanta and San Fran (minus a few scenes in the quantum realm).

I’m excited for Ant-Man to get a film entirely in the quantum realm and the huge amount of CGI is expected, imo.

We’ll still get plenty of sets, but for trailers there will obviously be backgrounds showcased that show off the imagery of the film that the studio wants to sell and those backgrounds will be CGI.
