This scene got a huge laugh from my audience. One of the biggest of the movie lol.

I’m glad some of you love these movies. That’s great for you but that clip is straight dog shit.

Modok was absolutely a highlight of the film for me lol. Different strokes I guess.

That said, I have never really been attached or interested in the character in general so turning him into a joke worked well for me.

  7. MODOK is in the same category of visual effects that are offensively shitty for a +$150M movie together with this:

Just wanna preface this by saying this is a very negative post but I don't want it to seem like I'm shitting on anyone who enjoyed this, which is not what I'm doing, just sharing my honest opinion:

I saw this on sunday and legit the only redeemable quality I found was Jonathan Majors and his performance. I think he did the best with what he had to work with. I thought Kang was a mismatched villain against Ant Man. He was underdeveloped and poorly explained. Like what are his actual powers? Seems like he barely used them and I felt like he was written to be way weaker just to fit into this plot. Why couldn't they show us Kang going up against other Avenger level heroes to show how powerful and dangerous he really is? And you're telling me giant ants fucked up the dude that apparently killed a version of Thor? Lame as fuck. MODOK would've been a cool addition if they tried to take him seriously for even one second, not to mention he looked like shit and was not funny in the slightest imo. The green screen and use of the Volume made every scene feel stiff and nothing looked tangible. Also found the sense of scale to be very poor in a movie about a guy who can grow/shrink to nearly any size. Overall I think I dislike this as much as Love & Thunder. Not very excited for much mcu stuff going forward if this is the quality we're going to consistently get.

I don’t think I’ve mentioned it here yet. But the whole Scott/Cassie reunion as giants fell totally flat for me. There was nothing on the screen to really show scale. It wasn’t until they mentioned it that I realized they weren’t normal size in that moment. Just a very poorly set up shot.

Yeah not being in the real world made it hard to buy into the shrinking/growing aspect. Like they are already small enough to fall into the quantum realm, so how can they shrink even more? And even when they are giant how big can they really be

I just assumed they were both giant from the fact that they were both giant in the scenes previously and the sound effects of them walking.

I don’t recall sound effects. Not saying they weren’t there. I am far more of a visual person on my first viewings. I normally barely register the score. I can see those sounds being that way for me. Visually, there was nothing to indicate they were still big.

Yall spent pages talking about Baskin Robbins Scott when the biggest problem with the movie was Scott saying that it felt like he was hugging Godzilla when he was hugging Cassie but really Cassie is the same size as she usually is relative to Scott since they're both giant

Well if we’re getting down to the nitty gritty of it, doesn’t the power NOT scale with their size? So when they’re small, they punch with the same force as when they’re normal size. So it *kinda* makes sense that it would feel like hugging Godzilla?

or maybe it, again, was them writing the scene to fit the joke

If you put any amount of thought into the consistency of how Pym Particles are meant to work, I guarantee you've already put more thought into it than the writers

I wasn’t a big fan of either movie, so good move, Marvel.

Marvel needs to give the special effects teams more time. No need to rush a film and have it permanently look goofy. Antman 3 could have easily been pushed to July.

  23. This was fine but disappointing considering the potential. They missed an opportunity to really dial in on the Scott/Cassie relationship and have that be the main focus. Cut out some excess and give me more of that. Like, why does Bill Murray need to be in this? Modok is a huge misfire despite a couple funny lines. The Quantum Realm visuals were fun in the moment but nothing really stuck with me. The one memorable sequence was the scene in the core with all the Scott variants. None of the action even sniffs the train set sequence at the end of the first movie. Idk, give me MoM and Raimi's crazy ideas over this any day. Kang was cool, though.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

Bill Murray sucks and his performance was insanely bad in this, dude delivered every line like he was half asleep and reading from cue cards. colossal waste of time

The best part of the Bill Murray scene is when the squid/octopus things avenged their friend
