I HATED my crowd for my first No Way Home screening. A ton of adult children feeling the need to utter every thought that ran through their baby heads. I am still a bit down on the movie because it was so insufferable. No MCU movie crowd has been that awful since.

Out of context of that, I like the movie. I love Andrew and Toby being back. But the couple times I’ve watched it at home, especially the first 60-90 minutes or so, all I can hear is the crowd being awful at every little thing. I missed dialogue in the theater because of it.

    It haunts me.

I’ve done Thursday night for Thor, Wakanda, and now this and that issue did not occur.

with all the mixed reviews, i went in with low expectations and ended up enjoying it more than i anticipated. not my favorite of the ant-man movies. as an MCU movie overall, i liked it more than Love and Thunder (which i didn't bother seeing in theaters) and it's on par with Wakanda Forever.

Kang's battle with the ants was amusing and a highlight. very comic book-y scenario and i loved it for that.

also, movie gets points for sprinkling in some "fuck the police"/"stop the sweeps"/"socialism with ants" sorta messages.

  7. I'm a Marvel grump but this was simultaneously nowhere near as bad as I expected and, at times, worse than I ever anticipated. Majors really anchored this thing for me. MODOK is the worst looking visual effect I've ever seen come out of the MCU. The most mixed of bags.

I thought MODOK was fantastic lol.

Put me in the category of pleasantly surprised with this after hearing all the bad reviews. It's nothing special but it's not as bad as the RT score for sure...

Is this really from the movie? Because if so I’m 100% waiting until it’s on Disney+

Knowing it comes from a Rick and Morty writer, it makes sense.

Honestly, while lame, the whole "I only answer to MODOK" bit felt entirely in character to me.

Bear in mind this is a guy established in the first movie as having a deep inferiority complex and he's also suffered brain damage between Pym Particle exposure and being turned into a fucking head with limbs.

  18. MODOK distracted me because whatever shitty effect they gave him made him look like Vito from The Sopranos instead of Corey Stoll

    This was ok.

I feel like I’m at the point with the MCU that I’m more interested to just see where they go with things like how it’s all gonna be tied together but not really enjoying how it happens. If that makes sense.

that's part of my problem with keeping up with the mcu which is I'm supposed to remember someone I saw in one movie 8 years ago haha

Lol I loved this scene. Modok in general was just very funny to me. Also a lot of people need to hear that it's never too late to stop being a dick.

It’s mostly the way it was written and how it seemed as if Newton was trying to not laugh. She regretted the day Rick & Morty was greenlit while reading those lines.

Rick and Morty is better than that, c'mon now.
