The first was pretty good, didn’t really care for the second and think they could use a different director. But based on Reed’s return here and Watts directing FF too, I’m pretty sure I know why.
Honestly prefer the second over the first. Some of that is because the smaller, more personal story without a major villain felt like a breath of fresh air after the monstrosity of Infinity War. Which, makes me more tepid on this one, since it seems to be going bigger. Kang is a super fun comic book villain, though, so that could help a ton.
The Ant-Man movies don't have the greatest writing but they're so damn fun and hilarious that they're easily among my favorites in the MCU
One of my buddies is writing this next one and I have a lot of faith in his abilities. He’s a genuinely true Marvel comics fan (pre-MCU) and has a ton of experience in comedy writing. I think it’s gonna come together so well.
