I dont really understand what was happening in the last few pages of this thread

But this movie was amazing!! Just....amazing. I didn't know it was like some weird dark comedy/hybrid drama/hybrid good? Great characters. Great script. Entertaining as the movie doesn't do a typical structure. Perfect final scene too.

I legit think this is 10/10.

The Big Picture pod said if Best Casting (which will be introduced next year) was eligible a year early then Sean Baker would have likely gotten a 5th Oscar, since he was a CD of the film too.

I am seeing some hacks with byline credits on their profile trying to push a "umm worst BP since Green Book actually??" narrative onto this and they can't be more wrong.

 

The big test like with all great movies is if it will be remembered outside of this awards' season. I think it will

 

Gerwig was the head juror at Cannes who awarded Anora the Palme d'Or. She must have really loved Mikey.

That person is an anti-Anora zealot. Other than the fact that it won I'm surprised how visceral some people are. It seems like something everyone can like.
