Could be, but they didn't let that stop them with the Jennifer Jason Leigh ending.

Bad CGI is something that is easier to forgive, though. Better CGI requires a bigger budget, and a bigger budget means Tom Cruise with a rocket launcher and a spunky kid saying one liners and all the other sideshows required.

Yeah I think it's about time to burn it all down, personally. Maybe with some sort of giant explosion set in motion by a spunky kid or whatever.

This movie reminds me of a Circa Survive album cover.

He wrenches on it. He thinks it's his.

Maybe the best thing ever said about this film.

I really loved this. Bits of it reminded me of the manga Uzumaki. Unsettling in the same way.

Uzumaki was and still is horrifying.

After a second watch this has definitely cemented itself as the best sci-fi film since Alien

Funnily enough I've been planning to rewatch that soon, last time I saw it I was in middle school.

CoM is more dystopian than science fiction (still one of the best movies of the aughts)

This movie has been a huge inspiration for me creatively. I’m working on an album right now and a lot of lyrical themes connect with the themes of this movie.

It was actually crazy, when I saw this movie one of the lines was almost word for word a lyric I had. I want to sneak in some dialogue bits into a song.

I will add a few shots had him resemble a younger Harrison Ford but for the most part he reminded me of Mark Duplass.

This is my first time on this site, but it’s showing a production budget of $55 million where everywhere else seems to be saying $40 million. Total box office gross was $43 million. Unfortunately, I don’t them selling many physical copies either.

Financials aside, I’m glad they didn’t edit their version for that guy at Paramount who didn’t think the audience would ‘get it’

  22. I wonder if this accounts for marketing costs too?

Yea, marketing money isn’t included in production budget, from what I heard in terms of studio movies, advertising costs is usually half of what the production is for a movie

  24. I’ve always read that a movie needs to earn double its budget in order to be considered profitable

I can assure you Paramount didn't spend anywhere near average on marketing.
