Until today I hadn't watched any anime or read any manga in months, but there's no time like the present to catch up. I watched the first episode of Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! and enjoyed it as much as I expected to. Yuasa and team are super reliable. Next on my list is catching up on the Land of the Lustrous manga.
I’m convinced any show that has people fighting insect humans or something like that, it’s always a dope arc.
Decided to give Haikyu a try. I’m not normally into sports anime, but I just finished season 1 and I am ALL in on this now. I also have a burning desire to play volleyball now lol.
Dunno if y'all only talk new anime, which isn't something I follow at all, but I've been watching Cardcaptor Sakura for the first time since watching that infamous dub as a kid, & it's so wonderful. Perfect comfort food for me right now. Also been watching some Ranma 1/2, which rules. Not sure how far I wanna watch when I own so little of the manga & love Rumiko Takahashi's work so much, but I probably won't be able to resist continuing that series here & there.
Great show and sport. I normally play volleyball once a week, but my league was understandably cancelled due to COVID-19. Can't wait to start playing again. On a related note, soccer is my favourite sport but I'm very reluctant to watch soccer anime, haha. I've tried maybe two and dropped both 1-2 episodes in.
I watched a baseball anime for a while but they dragged on arcs too long and it’s now at like 300 episodes lol
damn demon slayer anime was tight all around I’m excited for the movie now I’m going to watch food wars next
im obsessed with haikyu. i legit root for karasuno the way i would my real life teams. ive tried a couple of basketball series since thats my favorite sport but havent liked any aside from slam dunk
I’m a sucker for anything food related so food wars is top tier but gosh dang it gets sensual and I hate it so much lol
I wanted to watch a few episodes last night and I ended up watching 8 episodes and I’m just like dang I still love it
To make life a little bit worse in an already stressful time, we're only 13 weeks away from having the longest HunterXHunter hiatus.
Has anyone read the new series MASHLE? I read all 13 available chapters on Monday and it had me dying of laughter.
i can kind of understand being put away by the concept, but i find that ecchi content like that is usually misunderstood. it clearly revels in its own sillines rather than whatever creepiness it contains. find it weird that people will condemn that but then go straight to reading something like berserk, where the sexual content is way more disturbing. ive liked it. i enjoy it most when its not an outright harry potter parody cause thats like 10 years too late. but its been generally good, the action scenes of recent have been surprisingly well done for a manga more on the comedy side. its also gotten quite a good reaction in japan so itll probably stick around for a while. of that batch of new series undead unluck is far and away my fave, but i have enjoyed mashle more than the witchs guardian.
I think the humor syncs up well with a western audience as well. I absolutely lost it when he told the vice principal he was going to bury him. I heard that spirit busters was another pretty good gag manga, but the chapters weren't hitting as hard as Mashle - I know that's a slightly older launch, but I'm pretty behind. I'll put Undead Unluck on my list of things to read. I recently subscribed to the VIZ app to get my wife into reading One Piece because she recently caught up on the anime. I couldn't bear trying to get her to go through the efforts to read illegally online so the monthly cost of 1.99 a month seemed totally worth it.
I’m trying to keep track of what I watched this year so here is the generic list: my hero academia, demon slayer, weathering with you and currently food wars.
