Finished Sailor Moon s. Got two more seasons to go. I highly recommend Garo Vanishing Line. It's dark and brutal and emotional.
Since Season 3 was announced, I finally caught up on My Hero Academia... Man was Season 2 hype, Season 3 should be even better =D Although, I did spoil a bit by reading what happened in the manga by looking over the fan's wikia page, but the future of this franchise is going to be epic!
I haven't read either manga (other than what was posted on the wikia site), but the spin-off manga also seems interesting. Would be cool to do as an alternate anime if the anime ever catches up to the manga. Just to help give the manga time to finish up more stories to animate.
Rewatching 2nd Gig for like the 10th time. Love how relevant some of the themes are now to the modern world.
a feel good story about mha: kohei horikoshi, the mangaka behind mha, in some ways reminds me of deku's struggle to be a hero. horikoshi originally debuted in shonen jump with a series called oumagadoki doubutsen about a magical zoo, it never took off and only lasted 5 volumes before being axed. he returned 2 years later with a series called sensei no bulge (barage in english), a sci fi action series about an alien planet at war. jump put a lot of hope into the series and marketed it as their next big thing, but it turned out to be a total flop and only lasted 2 volumes before being cancelled. he then came back 2 years later with mha. usually mangaka at jump dont get more than 2 or 3 tries before being dropped by the magazine, so this was most likely his last shot and making manga with shonen jump, many who fail here never return and give up their careers as mangaka. there was no guarantee that mha would be a success. when the first chapter came out most of us who followed the magazine most of us just though "oh this is that guy with strong art but weak storylines" and were somewhat doubtful that this would be a hit. in fact the author's message in the first volume of mha reads: "this one might not remain popular , but for now, ill just be happy if everyone finds it as fun as i do". but that first chapter is so emotionally gripping and has such an amazing hook, and ultimately the series proved to be a commercial and critical hit that turned horikoshi into of one of manga's biggest names. like deku and many of the best shonen action heroes, horikoshi had a fair share of crushing defeats on the way to his dream but he didn't give until the end and now hes massively successful. im sorry for this really long post but it's something i always think about whenever i read a new chapter of mha or watch the anime or see people hyping it up (rightly so), and it always makes me smile, maybe it'll do the same for you.
I don't know if it's the aesthetic or just how good the story is but I really love how everything plays out in Cowboy Bebop. The music is tight, story is dope and it's just all great. I just finished episode 5 and I was just in awe of how good that episode was.
A solid trailer. I haven't watched the original in English, but that Haruko is pretty good. Edit: Japanese trailer.
I actually blasted through FLCL for the first time today since that trailer came out.....I usually watch subs but man the dub is fantastic. Haruko's VA is so good. So interesting that a show that has BASICALLY nothing going on plot wise is still so appealing. Also yea MHA is great, I've been caught up on the manga for a bit now and yea season 3 stuff is gonna be super awesome. Quick top 3 1. Tokoyami 2. Todoroki 3. Deku
I wanna watch that once I’m done with A Place Further Than The Universe. I’ve been liking that a lot even though I’ve been watching it so slowly
I'm still kinda iffy about what we've seen of the new Legend of the Galactic Heroes series (the original is maybe my favorite anime ever) but I'm still excited to see how it turns out. Simuldub is cool news though.
Ditto, I think its the best anime I've seen. I'm getting anxious waiting on that Sentai Filmworks release of the original series. I'm hoping they do a deluxe box set with the movies, the main ova series and the gaiden series. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Did you watch ACCA-13?
