Ponyo, Totoro, and Kiki’s Delivery Service are definitely the most “small child-friendly” Miyazaki movies. But really all of them are largely fine. Mononoke and Spirited Away both have stuff that could very easily be nightmare fuel, depending on the kid. Not so much the actual human violence but just the disturbing monsters
Whisper of The Heart and The Cat Returns I would also say are pretty kid friendly. And it's cool how those two movies connect to each other since the latter is basically an expansion on some scenes from the former
This has been rumored for a hot minute but officially confirmed today. Absolutely love this manga so far and this teaser is looking lovely. Highly recommend checking out Kagurabachi!
Yeah I feel like it’s bound to be the next JJK at this point. The little snippets from the teaser alone show just how much detail they’re putting into the animation even in relatively minor moments.
It was originally sold to me as ‘John Wick with magical swords’ haha There are some great characters and the gradual introduction of the lore has really worked for me.
yeah it sounds fun enough. i don't usually go in for shounen much, but since I'm a sucker for anything with samurai, I'll give it a go. prob will snag some manga since the anime is like a year away
I started reading it on the Shonen Jump app, but definitely need to get some physical copies at some point.
I used to have all 28 vols of RK. I think I gave them to my friend when I found out about the author. That's the only series I ever collected in its entirety, everything else I just read online. I stopped reading manga a long time ago tho, way before I started collecting comics/graphic novels.
Witch Hat Atelier episode 5 felt legitimately special. Blown away by the animation and how well they are enhancing the source material.
I know this is a super late response but yes, Crystal is good for what it is. It follows the manga more closely than the OG does. I just prefer the original since it is pretty much the reason I ended up liking anime in the first place.
Been rewatching all of Thousand Year Blood War since the final coun is coming out in July, and god it’s so good. The original anime did such a poor job of matching the artwork and darker aesthetic of the manga Considering cour 3 adapted around 50 chapters, and that there’s only around 30 left to cover, I really hope cour 4 adds a lot more new material to flesh out the ending, given how infamously rushed the manga ending was. All of the anime additions have been huge improvements
I've been out of anime for a while, finally watched S2 of Frieren this week. Still very good, but feel like it was a bit of a step down from the first one. It really felt kind of rushed, which is odd with all the talk of them catching up to the source material too quickly. I really liked the leisurely chill pace of the first season, I think they could've added some scenes and let stuff breathe. There were episodes that would have two completely different action scenes in totally different environments. I knew it was a shorter season but was shocked when episode 10 ended and that was the finale. Just kind of felt like a shrug
I’ve been out of anime for a long while but with the World Cup hype I decided to re-watch blue lock and then watch the very questionable decision season 2. season 1 is still so good and I would lose sleep over this.
Bug Films really delivered on this. Obviously the delays were rough but we got an excellent first season. Season 2 is in production so hoping we get more sooner rather than later.
God, this just looks so beautiful. Supposedly a compilation movie is airing in September, and then the 8 episode series streams later in the year. Seems backwards, but whatever.
