The next episode is going to cover a manga fan favorite fight. Though idk if it will get to the climax of it
I’m liking, but not loving it. I hear from manga readers it’s gonna be an amazing season, but the rules are convoluted and this new episode was an “info dump”. But it will probably make more sense as the episodes go on.
I started liking JJK less and less from this point on really. I'm hoping I might enjoy the anime more.
i know Nobara comes back but that's a long ways away. Manga fans seem hype about Culling Game, and i love Maki's new look ...i'm shallow and watch jjk bc it's pretty
I think it’s best to think of the Culling Games as a pseudo-tournament arc. Every major character has one massive fight and they’re all individually awesome, but because of that, there isn’t much in terms of interactions between the main characters
Gurren Lagann mentioned AND listed as a #1 (I'm ignoring any context), this is a great post. Easily my favourite show I think.
oh speaking of Gainax/Trigger i started Panty and Stocking. back in college we watched the first ep in anime club. i noticed a second season was on Prime but found it weird that the first one's only on CR. yeah i was kinda already getting that vibe from the explanation of the rules. it feels a little convoluted bc it's such a big info dump all at once but i had the feeling it would play out as a sort of tournament.
The thing that’s actually convoluted (and imo probably never adequately explained) is: how does doing this help facilitate the “merger” between Tengen and all of Japan that Kenjaku wants to happen. But you just kinda have to accept that it does, it’s not worth dwelling on. But the rules themselves are actually pretty straightforward, it’s just they’re written kinda the same way as a board game’s rules are, where it can seem weirdly confusing if you don’t have something to contextualize them. But they’re basically just: 1. If you’re an awakened/reincarnated sorcerer, you HAVE to participate within a certain amount of time. There are various spots (“colonies”) around Japan where one can participate. Then once you start, your points have to change within a certain amount of time (the only way to get points is to kill other players). If you neither join nor get points after joining, then you lose your technique, ie die. There are no requirements for regular humans to participate, and I don’t think even currently-existing sorcerers need to participate either 2. Rules can be added by expending 100 points, but you can’t get rid of old rules, and new rules have to be agreed to by what is basically the computer system running the game (Kenjaku isn’t actually running it) I believe the stated reason for why Kenjaku made the rules in a way that allows players greater choices and freedom (participate or don’t, the ability to add rules) simply goes back to the idea that the JJK power system, like in HunterxHunter, operates on a level where sacrificing something (in this case, the degree of control Kenjaku has over the game) can boost the strength of your technique significantly (the “strength” of it being how effective it facilitates this merger with Tengen, I guess?). Like how revealing your cursed technique to your opponent (and thus giving them an upper hand over you) increases the strength of it I can’t think of any time where Kenjaku provides an explanation for *why* he made the rules that way beyond that simple motivation. Like he’s basically just accepting the fact that players can and will add rules in some ways, but it doesn’t matter to him because his ultimate goal is having them kill each other regardless
This hair flip meme is hilarious. I never would've expected it to blow up like that when I saw that scene in the theater
blew through four episodes of Frieren today, just watched ep10. made it to the scene i kept seeing clips of on tiktok. maybe if i continue at this pace i can catch up/keep up with the new season
stupid naoya, all that for what, he died like two episodes later i love maki so fucking much ughhh but oh no mai is dead
i wanna change my avatar but i'm worried it'll be a spoiler to anyone not caught up but if you aren't already in here chances are you don't even know what jjk is
unless the spoiler is something that happens later in the series, then id hold off completely until its airs so the anime onlys dont get butt hurt
i think my av would be just a frame from the opening. it's not a spoiler that maki survives shibuya, is it?
The end of season 3 ep 2 is when that is officially revealed in the anime. So at the latest, the movie that came out in the fall. Or two weeks ago when the season premiered with the first two eps
only ment butthurt as a synoym of upset. but to even further explain myself, xkaylinh made it seem like the spoiler was further along then what the culling games was going to show so was under the assumtion they read the manga. have had experiences in the past when talking about spoliers with manga readers where the anime only's get upset due to us talking about spoliers, so forgive me for using that past experience to describe anime onlys not wanting to be spoiled as "butthurt"
So since the movie was a few months ago and the new opening has been up for four episodes this is fair game?
imo all is fair once its released from the manga, if youve been on twitter youve basically had all major spoliers spoiled for you when the chapters were releasing. imo its up to you to block things you dont want to get spoiled
