I'm absolutely loving the animation and what they did with it. Off the wall, but in the best way. It really is some Tom and Jerry nonsense.
I thiiink the dimming was removed, from what I could tell the flashier scenes weren't greyed out as they were on streaming. Made seeing bits of those fights, especially Mahoraga, such a treat in the theater. Anyway, as an anime only fan, I thought the new content was great. As expected, it was like an episode or two's worth. Yuji vs Yuta was so cool. They didn't give nearly enough time to read the Culling Game rules tho haha
I’m guessing the tv episode version will probably explain the rules better / at a slower pace. It’s crucial to understand the rules, because one of the core goals of the protagonists during the arc is trying to modify the rules (which rule 6 allows!) If you want to read them all, it’s at the end of chapter 143. Ultimately the core rules are simply: participate and get points or you inevitably die yourself via cursed technique removal. You get points for killing people (5 for sorcerers and 1 for non-sorcerers) and if you get 100 points then you can add a new rule, but it must be approved by the “game master,” which is actually not the Geto-brain-replacer person but a little creature independent from him, meaning he doesn’t actually have *complete* control over the games. The game master will also reject a rule if it “has a marked and long-last effect” on the games, so you can’t add a rule that’s like “players no longer lose their cursed technique from failing to gain points” because it would fundamentally contradict a core rule of the games
It is kind of nuts it's over though. Nine years or so, right? Wonder what the next big show to take that spotlight will be.
I just marathon through the last season all of today and I just felt happy it ended. I think the ending was fine enough and I for sure shed a few tears. It’s just crazy to think it’s over.
I love MHA and I think this final season has been one of the best they've had. Excited to catch the final episode tomorrow moring when I'm done my 32 hour straight work run.
Wish they would’ve adapted chapter 431 as well, I think it’s a better ending than 430. It actually gives the flash forward a bit of substance to it rather than just being a “where they are now” for 99% of it
Assuming the animation is done well, Kagurabachi is basically destined to be the next big show whenever it inevitably gets animated. I thought the auction arc was close enough to a Shibuya Incident-level of chaos, but at this point the past 45 chapters - literally almost half of the entire series at this point - has been dedicated to an arc that is taking place over a single day, which started as a relatively straightforward retrieval mission but now has the characters fighting basically the series equivalent of Madara Uchiha
Still haven't seen Reze movie, but excited to finally get to the part where Chainsaw Man starts getting wild
I remember that being the part in the manga where I really fell in love with it and the movie is a phenomenal adaptation.
In my mind, Fujimoto realized that he had done two devil hybrid villains in a row and needed to shake it up, so he brought in multiple very different villains all at once Though really when you think about it, there's really only two legit enemies: "Santa Claus" and Quanxi. "Santa" is made out to be two different enemies but is really one, and then the brother trio just becomes a punchline
I finished Solo Leveling season two. It really dragged…until the last three episodes. Then it was hype x100. The plot is dumb and the characters are flat as a pancake, but the animation and fight sequences are top tier.
Are they the final anime to get rid of it? Boruto had years and years of filler because they decided to go weekly. But I don’t know if any modern anime that does that anymore. Just the product of a bygone era. One Piece was the weird one for not having actual filler content
I believe Detective Conan is still yearly, if were talking about yearly anime that are manga adaptations
Rewatched Reze Arc. I love her. I watched the school scenes when I first purchased it but didn't watch the entire movie until now. Really fun but really emotional too
its fine crunchyroll.. I get it.. zls is not as popular as demon slayer or chainsaw man but can we at least get a dub showing and like 1 more day for the showing, even the gundam double feature is getting 2 days in theaters
So I'm coming to the end of Monster (like 10 eps left) and so far I absolutely love it, not just as an anime, but as one of the best shows I've ever watched. The slow burn, the characters, the arcs, the settings, it's all been amazing. I'm tempted to drop $200 now to get the full manga set as there's so much I missed and I'd rather have the books to flip through to catch up on things vs the show. Also interested in buying 20th century boys from the same author / illustrator. I am thinking of watching Odd Taxi next (different type of show I'm sure). Anyone got any thoughts on that? It appeals to me based on what I've read (adult themes / slow burn / mystery / good characters / a supposedly fantastic payoff). I'm new to anime and the only true ones I've watched are basically Monster and Pluto but a lot of my favorite shows are animated so I'm trying to find more true Anime in my lane. To be honest though, a lot of Anime quirks and the 'silliness' of it all, puts me off so I'm trying to find the more grounded stories then branch out to the more stylized stuff from there. I'm also old lol. And self consciously I'm like 'really? Anime?'. But hey, if it strikes a chord and I enjoy it, I'm just going to let it happen.
