I'm going back to The Summer Hikaru Died after dropping off for a bit. It's such a weirdly tense series but I'm enjoying it so far.

 

I've heard good things about that one. I was in between that and Gachiakuta to watch next.

 

Gachiakuta is fun

 

I'm definitely intrigued by Gachiakuta after seeing how much of a presence it's had at cons I've been to this year. Might give it a go next

 

I'm reading the Akira manga and I knew the movie was an abridged version but man I had no idea just how much of a completely different story it was. It's really just the inciting incident + some of the early running around that's the same

 

The manga is a true masterpiece. They were supposedly going to adapt the whole manga as a series, but they announced that in 2019 and no news since.

 

Hope they can get Tom Cruise for the dub.

 

I got to see an advance screening of AYNIK at NYCC and it was pretty solid! Very cool visual direction.

i think i wanna see Chainsaw Man and JJK in theaters. i wonder if they got rid of the dimming in Shibuya Arc for the movie?

 

is the JJK thing that's coming to theaters a movie? the trailer seemed very misleading when I saw it a week or so ago.

 

I think it's like the Demon Slayer movie last year? A few episodes that already aired, a few episodes that haven't

 

Okay that makes sense, and is kind of what I was expecting, will be sat either way.

I was going to make a post about this because I saw a couple Crunchyroll clips and... man, they really went for it, didn't they?

I binged the whole thing in a library for a day. The battles felt like DBZ.

 

Reze arc movie is sick. Looked awesome in 3D too.

 

Yeah just got out of that too really enjoyed it.

Buuut I wonder how different my experience would've been if I had no idea she was Bomb that would've entailed avoiding all promo and like fanart and cosplay tho which would've been nearly impossible.

I've had a lot of things spoiled for me in JJK, AoT, Demon Slayer... and I don't really mind it when it comes to anime tbh. idk why, I feel like it should bother me more, but so far it hasn't really taken away from my enjoyment. I guess with long running action series with killer animation the story takes a back seat for me. That feels odd to say bc obv story is important and I'm not just watching whatever looks cool

Anyway, yeah, the Chainsaw Man movie looks really cool and has a good story too

And at least I still don't know wtf Makima's powers are

 

It felt like forever since I last seen and read chainsaw man so now I gotta do a rewatch fast FREAK

 

Can confirm I went into this blind without seeing any trailers/art for this arc and was genuinely shocked when things happened.

 

The Reze arc is great but god I really need them to animate the remaining arcs of Part One already. It’s like Hidden Inventory / Shibuya Incident-level great - when a series goes from just Very Good to being in the discussion of all time greats
