Maybe in terms of like One Piece pacing, no lol. But it’s not like it was the end of an arc, there was still *so* much left to do in the story that I wanted them to get to

I’ve never liked how they place the backstories at the end of the fight. I think it’d be more interesting knowing that side of them ahead of the fight so you have a better sense of who they are and how they became the way they did as you watch them fight, or before-hand. And I get that it’s often supposed to be their humanity returning to them at their last moments, but I feel like it really sucks the air out of the climax for the main characters.

 

imo the Upper Moon 1 fight is pretty easily the best fight in the whole series. I still go back and re-read it sometimes. I’ve been seeing clips of the UM3 fight in this movie and they clearly add so much more than what’s in the manga (in a good way. So I can’t even really imagine what UM1 is gonna look like

 

Yeah I completely disagree, I think the way the backstories work is one of the best aspects of the series. I think it makes sense to view the demons as evil monsters that need to be slain, the same way the characters do, to heighten the excitement of the fights and the desire to see them defeated. Then revealing the circumstances that led them to that point and creating sympathy for some truly despicable characters in their final moments works perfectly imo.

 

definitely agree there are better way to intertwine the backstory reason for the fight, best example of this IMO is with the kakashi v obito fight

Demon slayer isnt the most ambitious when it comes to story telling, so I think they way it "humanizes" the demons with their backstory's as they're thinking about their life after they get their heads cut off is totally acceptable

 

Reborn as a Vending Machine Anime Gets 3rd Season

 

Saw Infinity Castle last night. Absolutely loved it. Just so visually stunning. I’m still so sad about Shinobu. And that Akaza backstory was heartbreaking. Also Zenitsu’s progression into what he is now was wild to see.
Genuinely loved everything about the movie and am so sad we have to wait years for more

Rewatching the Rebuild of Evangelion movies on Amazon. I hated the redub when Amazon first licensed the movies. On rewatch, it has much more natural direction than the OG funimation and ADV dubs. There’s a lot of really great script revisions that clarify motivations and lore and some great line delivery.

 

Trying to get back into regularly watching anime like I did a few years ago, was told by a few people to watch Kaiju No. 8. Digging it a lot so far.

 

My Hero Academia final season dropped today and it’s been a year since the last episode and I don’t remember anything smh

 

It actually dropped over the weekend but I watched the new episode and holy fuck CHILLS

I already know the ending cause it was meme to hell if they follow the manga but goddamn what a start

 

They very weirdly split the final arc into two seasons, and at a relatively awkward moment in the middle of a huge fight. Really should have done one big final season. Not like it would’ve been any longer than some of the earlier seasons

Honestly, I didn't even notice anything until I already posted it, and once I noticed it, I tried to ignore it, but it kind of kept eating at the back of my mind, and now I just feel deflated about the whole thing, because I thought putting her in the scene was a good gag.

Then again, that probably explains the comments about "itchy" from the YouTube post I got it from.

No, just me slowly dying of embarrassment because I thought the putting of the character in the scene was funny, not actually paying attention to what was happening, and if I'm being honest, I'm still not sure what the intention was with that gif.

I got it off YouTube, because I guess YouTube does gifs now, and the worst is for most of today afterward it kept popping up on my Youtube feed, reminding me of my stupidity until I blocked it.

Anyway, I have deleted it. I am sorry I posted it blindly. If it helps, I am angry and frustrated by these series of events. I fucked up.

 

This incident continues to prey on my mind from yesterday. Please for the love of God, someone talk about something.

Caught up on Kaiju no. 8 (WTF at a cliffhanger ending) also just saw 100 Meters at my local theater.

 

New Digimon show is pretty cool so far

 

I got sucked into buying these little figurines so now I feel like I actually got to make time to watch one piece finally
