That's really only a spoiler up through season 2, which really just barely scratches the surface of the whole story. It's not like that's kept secret until the end of the series or anything
I could say this about a million anime probably but dandadan really is at its peak right now with how absurd the show is getting and I’m still hooked
It’s a good example of a series that starts off knowing exactly as weird as it needs to be, so all the subsequent absurdity never feels out of place
Also a good example of an anime adaptation that really understands the source material. Both the artistic style (when to make it more detailed and intense vs. when to make it more simple and light) and the little added details that weren’t originally there, like playing the remixed William Tell Overture during the Turbo Granny chase
Didn't know City the Animation had aired already. Just watched the first episode, it's a lot of fun. So happy to see some new KyoAni animation. But they skipped the first couple chapters of the manga which is really weird
One Piece is getting so hype! Still in Wano Only took 400+ episodes, but Jimbei finally joined the crew! Siiick. Also, fuck Kanjuro!! the animation upgrade again around 980 is insane.
What’s really funny is that you’re literally only halfway through Wano lol But yeah from here on out, the animation is gonna get much better much more often
The swag has also been lifted to another level. I love the Sanji x Zoro dynamic of always clashing, but then kind of showing out and fighting well together as a duo.. I hope they do more of that.
The other day, I wanted to take a nap after work and put a random movie on that I'd never heard of just for background noise. When Marnie Was There is what I ended up hitting play on. Never heard of it, whatever. I watched the entire thing, cried like a baby, and immediately wanted to watch it again after it ended... Haha
Demon Slayer movie was awesome. i didn't read the manga but i did accidentally see a tiktok that spoiled who lives and dies. that was months and months ago, so my recollection of it is pretty fuzzy, thankfully. the fact that Shinobu got absorbed is very upsetting. there's no body to bury. a couple of gripes: so much suicide. Zenitsu's master (stabbing), Akaza's dad (hanging), Akaza's sensei's wife (drowning), Akaza himself (punching?). maybe it's a cultural/historical thing, it just rubs me the wrong way i was kinda expecting Zenitsu's fight to be longer. Akaza's backstory took way too much time towards the end, really ruined the flow of the film for me. but yeah, the animation is peak. everything from the fight scenes to the way the castle is constantly moving. definitely see this in theaters if you can
I’m so behind on demon slayer but I need to see the movie in theater so I gotta grind the show real quick
Finally caught up with the Hashira training arc just in time to see Infinity Castle in theaters later. Wish the Hashira Training arc had a little more going on, especially after following how much fun the Swordsmith Village arc was, but I'm super hype for the movie. I love seeing anime on the big screen.
And the training arc is significantly more fleshed out than in the manga — they spent a whole episode per Hashira, whereas in the manga some of their trainings were like a couple of pages. It was a real shock realizing that the final arc was happening right after it
That's definitely surprising to hear. The arc as a whole felt rushed through. I need to check out the manga one of these days, especially since it's completed.
Infinity Castle was brilliant, it might be my favourite part so far. I can't wait for the final two films.
No, I've not read it. It's one of the few times where I like the anime so much more that I'd rather wait.
It was over two whole chapters, I remember feeling like it took forever even compared to the backstories of other ones.
That doesn't seem that long, haha. I thought it was one of the strongest parts of the film. The backstories really elevate things for me.
