Finally got my wife to watch AOT with me so we can both catch up and start season 2. She doesn't have much patience for watching things subbed nowadays so she wanted to wait until the dub was readily available (I've already seen it all the way through, but its been long enough that its enjoyable again). I just finished Mob Psycho 100 and loved every minute of it. Started Konosuba and My Hero Academia for some lighthearted stuff - going to an anime convention at the end of the month (same one I've been going to for years at this point) and I always try and get "hyped" by watching as much as I can.
Just finished the last ep of AoT. Next ep is gonna be epic! It's making me wanna re-watch the first season.
great cliffhanger in AOT today also, i highly recommend this: Seikaisuru Kado it's currently airing and only 12 eps really interesting stuff.
So I know I'm late to the game, but I finally watched all of Neon Genesis Evangelion. I knew to expect it to be dense, but hooo boy is it dense! Wanting to dive into some in-depth analysis, anybody know of a decent blog or something that goes episode by episode with it? Unfortunately, the video store I rented it from does not have End of Evangelion, and I would prefer to watch that before diving into the Rebuild movies. Anybody know of a place where I could stream/buy it for cheap? (Used copies on Amazon are like $80...)
No idea where the best place to watch End of Evangelion is but I say don't go into any analysis and definitely don't start the rebuild films before seeing EOE.
Noted. On a different subject: does anybody else like Beyond the Boundary? Because I remember checking that show out on a whim a couple years ago and just really falling in love with it. Just the most satisfied I'd felt with an anime in a while. Only to look up reviews online and the consensus seemed to be: 'Lol, show sucks bro!'
For me 'Beyond the Boundary' wasn't that bad of a show, but at the same time it was that great either. It didn't draw me in, or make me want to binge it as much as I thought I would with the concept, but it was at least passable for me. To be fair though, there has been anime that I enjoyed/loved, and was shocked to discover that everyone else hated them. I don't pay them any mind though because just as long as you enjoy it, that's all that matter. I know for a fact that there has been over-hyped/glorified anime that I found to be lame, or average at best. Doesn't take away from an anime because even a 'shitty' anime could have something for someone out there. Except for "Magikano" that was the only piece of fiction (not just anime) that not only pissed me off, but made me feel like I had wasted my time with how terrible that ending was.
I loved kiznaiver too. in fact, after @cshadows2887 finishes angel beats!, he's probably going to start that I think. basically I'm making him watch stuff that will make you cry. I just know he loved 'your name', so I wanted to rec stuff that was short but emotional, with aspects of sci fi/supernatural.
Kiznaiver has some of my favourite moments in all of anime in it. I got very emotional at times during that show.
I found Kiznaiver visually beautiful but just okay, with the exception of a few powerful moments. I'm still glad Trigger made it. I can't think of anything that qualifies as "an anime that I loved that a lot of people hated". Of my favourites, And Yet The Town Moves and Windy Tales are the only two with low ratings on MAL, but not very many people have seen them.
Finally got around to watching Orange, and ReLife... Orange was a great anime, and ReLife was also good too. I'm hoping both get a second season because I'm interested in seeing how everything turned out (and how everyone is doing) after the main events. Especially Orange, and how different things will be (without getting into spoilers) for that group of friends.
HXH MANGA RETURNS 6/26 GET HYPE for the six chapters we'll get before the next hiatus reminder of how hard it's been following this manga: HUNTERĂ—HUNTER Hiatus Chart
last batch of chapters was bonkers, so hype for this. it is kind of torture knowing that any chapter might be the last one for another year+ also could gon being in that ad mean we're finally getting back to him? probably just there cause hes the mc but would be cool to see him again
Saw Your Name in theaters for the fourth time today. Second time with a friend. This movie is fucking glorious.
Still unsure whether to talk about manga in here or the comic thread but I've finally started reading My Hero Academia and it just keeps getting better. I was already in love with the anime but that hasn't even reached the best stuff yet.
