This era of like mainstream anime is so fucking cool. Hopefully this really leads to us getting more animated adaptations for book series and more. There’s so many sci-fi and fantasy stuff that would work so much better in animation and you wouldn’t have to waste so much money on CGI that is usually crap. How someone hasn’t tapped into an animated universe of Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere stuff is so dumb and I’ve barely read any of his stuff yet. The stupid “for kids” stigma for animation needs to finally be completely shattered.
Didn’t start the anime yet, but if it’s even close to the quality of the manga then that’s not surprising.
Yeah, the manga quality is insane which I don't think most anime studios can keep up with. The art for the manga is its own character. That's why I was so surprised they did an anime adaptation so quickly.
I saw a clip of blue lock season 2 and what the hell is going on with all these animations they are getting worse
Of course as im almost caught up lol but honestly a condensed fishman island is a godsend. Truly disliked that arc
I do watch sub too though. Like I’ve always watched every Studio Ghibli movie in both sub and dub. And if a show is never going to get a dub then I cave. I just prefer dub. It’s what I grew up watching and they’ve improved dubs so much over the last two decades. Plus my attention span is fucked now. Also to be fair, sub watchers aren’t technically watching it properly either. If you don’t understand Japanese then you’re never watching the media as intended because every sub and dub translation can vary slightly based on the person translating it. So y’all aren’t any better than me! Lmao
I get the attention span thing, which does mean i don't watch as much anime as I'd like lol. I will say the Alya dub was appropriately unhinged and was how i first experienced the anime as i ran across clips on tiktok.
It’s funny, because if it’s live action, I won’t watch it any other way but subbed. Live action dubs are an abomination. I also have subs on for everything I watch in general. I’ve never tried to claim that I make sense as a person. Haha
