Ito's work is fascinating but his art gets very grotesque. Too spooky 4 me Love the story about the sentient tree that murders anyone who drinks its honey though. Slapstick murder.
I thought Uzumaki was on Netflix and I was all bummed until an email from HBO MAX came through and let me know it’s on there
Uzumaki spoilers when the mom started cutting her own finger tips off that legit had me feeling uncomfortable but yeah that was a first good episode it’s only going to get weirder too
I was gonna check out that Crunchyroll anthology series but then I unsubbed a while ago and then when i resubbed I'd totally forgotten about it
Watched another episode of Hundred. They're still walking clichés and Emilia is so fucking bad at hiding her identity but she's so adorable that I don't care. I am disappointed to learn that they're going to continue this farce for 3 more episodes though, which was a change from the source material, presumably to make the audience groan at her shit a while longer.
Just watched the first episode of Wistoria: Wand and Sword. I knew it was going to be extremely my shit, but damn. Love the animation style a lot and it’s crazy how well they pull their style off imo. I’ll have to finally start the manga to see how great that looks now.
sorry, i'm confused, which other adaptations? should i or should i not watch the Junji Ito Collection from 2018 on Crunchyroll?
Do not watch it. There’s Junji Ito Collection and Junji Ito: Tales of the Macabre, they’re both really bad.
Well, my sources lied to me as I just finished episode 3 of Hundred and the charade is thankfully over, at least for the people that matter. I'm also going to give the male protagonist the benefit of the doubt, as we learn this episode he had slight amnesia, so it's entirely possible he just forgot what clichés look like. My new favorite wrinkle now is that both protagonists are infected with a virus but only Hayato's is active and can only be suppressed by Emilia's dormant virus, and so she decides the best way to supply it to him is by frenching him at every opportunity. I'd say they should get a room but one of the reasons she pretended to be a guy was to literally be able to sleep in Hayato's room. Someone douse these kids with the hose.
The characters are growing on me because Hayato and Emilia are so cute when they're together. Now there's a new girl making trouble, but she's got a dark backstory and she's fighting evil with the power of music, so it's fine. President Drills can piss off though. First she tries to expel him, now she's trying to seduce him? *hisses like cat*
Loved that first ep of Dan Da Dan going in completely blind, felt like mob psycho on drugs. OP is one of the best I’ve heard in a while too.
Dandadan seems like the best possible adaptation possible. Especially that ending scene (the UFO explosion wasn't in the manga and it's absolutely perfect)
Dandadan premiere ruled. I love the characters and animation. The attempted SA was really uncomfortable though.
alien abduction trope thing. it's the first and only time something like that happens in the whole story. so far at least
Oh man, something completely unhinged just got a second season announced and I absolutely cannot talk about it but I want to because I am shocked this is getting a second season.
