I’m on 930 and it does feel a little weird pacing wise. Like there’s so many stories going on right now but a lot of them don’t feel very important or all that interesting. I’m hoping I get more into it in the coming episodes.
It was really fun. But it just like ends suddenly. Kind of awkward lol. But I’ll be watching the series
There’s one more showing in like an hour but I got work at 5 am so I can’t do that lol I was legit planning to go tomorrow cause my whole weekend was full
Yeah that sucks. It’s only like an hour and a half total just fyi. Like 15mins of interviews, 6 mins of trailers and then the three episodes. I had no idea this was a thing and just was looking for a movie to see and my Cinemark had it.
Finished rewatching jjk. Love the fights in Shibuya arc but some of the plot towards the end is still so confusing, I had to look up some explanations online to really make sense of where everything is heading, without spoiling too much of course
Technically the “correct” order of events is JJK0 first, since that’s what Gege wrote first Watching it in chronological order would make no sense bc Hidden Inventory discusses a lot about the power system and world that presumes you’ve read the explanations of jujutsu throughout s1. Plus things like Toji being Megumi’s dad would have zero impact
i meant "make sense" as in specifically for a rewatch, like going through River Song's episodes in what would be chronological order from her perspective but anyway, while we're here, correct me if I'm wrong about any of this... Kenjaku-in-Geto's-body sealed Gojo to create a power vacuum. in the ensuing chaos, Mahito fights Yuji and gets stronger. Kenjaku uses Geto's technique to absorb Mahito, then uses Mahito's strengthened technique to awaken vessels like Yuji and curse users like Junpei. Also, Kenjaku releases a bunch of curses onto Tokyo. Also, through Kenjaku, somehow Yuji really is related to Choso. and because jujutsu society higher-ups are dicks, they set Yuta out to kill Yuji
Oda extremely fucked up big parts of Wano, like doing fuck all to connect Zoro to it as part of his cultural background in the same way that Whole Cake Island delved into Sanji’s background. Or giving most of the Straw Hats barely anything to do throughout it. Or not introducing Yamato until what is basically the last minute. But despite that it still works better than tons of arcs despite its length, I think because there’s so much going on the whole time. Like there’s only a small number of moments where it feels like it drags as bad as Dressrosa
1. Kenjaku sealed Gojo simply because Gojo could easily ruin his plans. Same reason every antagonist wants Gojo gone lol 2. Mahito getting stronger has nothing to do with Kenjaku’s plans, I don’t think. Kenjaku needed Mahito to be weakened so that he could be absorbed. Geto’s technique needs cursed spirits to be significantly weaker than him in order to absorb them. Could he have done it himself? Possibly, but it would have been risky. Whereas that was a perfect opportunity. What he did need to do was to just waste an Uzumaki supreme technique move (what he used on Miwa) in order to use the technique himself. He’s able to use it over such a vast distance not because Mahito became stronger, but by somehow taking advantage of Tengen’s barriers. I think some fans speculate that it was actually Kenjaku who made it seem like he needed to wait by the prison realm for Gojo to get overpowered, and thus let the disaster curses run amok in the hopes they would be weakened while he could just chill back and watch. But I think that’s BS because at the time, the odds of even one of them being defeated was unbelievably low 3. Yes he awakened those two types of people. Though Yuji is a unique vessel in that he can contain Sukuna. A typical vessel is like Choso and his brothers, who completely take over the body of their hosts. 4. Yeah Kenjaku released all those curses in that moment mainly as a distraction to get away from Yuki, but it’s definitely possible that he would have just done it anyway 5. The higher-ups always wanted to kill Yuji because he’s Sukuna’s vessel. Gojo’s sealing gives them a chance to do it, since Gojo was the only person stopping them 6. Yuta volunteered to be Yuji’s formal executioner, he was not forced by the higher-ups 7. Also, if it wasn’t clear: Yuki only talked the whole time because she thought she had everything under control, but she fucked up because she didn’t realize Kenjaku had already absorbed Mahito until it was too late What Kenjaku is putting into motion will be explained in the beginning of next season (though his real motivation won’t be explained until much later, I think). It’s intentionally left vague what he’s done, beyond bringing about more curse users. But you can think of Shibuya as like a halfway point in the story And we learn bits and pieces about how exactly Yuji and Choso are related throughout, but it really isn’t until very near the end of the manga that we come to get an *explicit* full picture of how it came about.
Choso and the rest of the blood paintings aren’t exactly typical vessels either though. At least not in comparison to how vessels work when Kenjaku uses Idle Transfiguration.
They are in regards to how they completely took over the body/soul of their host, which is what I said. Yuji is the sole exception of a vessel maintaining control
Okay my bad, then it’s a weird comparison to make considering the blood paintings are basically a completely different thing and they have nothing to do with Kenjaku awakening people, which is what she was talking about.
Yeah it feels like it should be a big Zoro arc, but like that isn’t happening at all lol it feels like the entire crew are just in the background and the actual citizens of Wano are the main cast in this arc, which is a weird feel and twist for how the entire series has been to this point
Jfc my exact words were solely “Though Yuji is a unique vessel in that he can contain Sukuna. A typical vessel is like Choso and his brothers, who completely take over the body of their hosts.” I didn’t say they were like Choso in how they came about, I said they were like Choso in how they take over the body. I never once said Choso was a 100% typical vessel, I am making exactly one single point of comparison between a typical vessel and Choso
Yeah but in the context of Kenjaku awakening people, it could be confusing for someone looking for information to make that comparison when it’s not the same fucking thing. I was just trying to clarify for anybody that doesn’t know that how Choso and his brothers came to be was different. It wasn’t that big of a fucking deal. I wasn’t correcting you.
Sorry I wasn’t referring to just you being confused, but anyone that was reading the explanation. But yeah I was just trying to make it clear since they’re created differently. Wasn’t trying to correct anything, but help out with some additional info. But fuck me I guess.
