Yeah there are specific moments that I think are enhanced by the anime -- animation, music, voice actors, pacing, etc. can all change how you perceive a scene. But if I could redo it then I'd just read it all instead of watching. There are very few pre-Wano moments where the animation is so good that it adds more to the scene than the manga imo

Though now that they're able to pull off seasonal-level animation practically every time there's a fight, it's absolutely worth watching the anime on that basis alone lol

If it’s a slow cozy show in the Japanese countryside, me. The audience is me

I think it’s been a long enough wait since solo leveling has ended so time to jump back into the thousand anime’s I’m currently missing.

I’m already mad at the new season of mha just because everything is going light speed lmao

Demon Slayer has been losing me lately. I haven’t enjoyed it since season two and I’m just watching to keep up at this point.

My Hero keeps getting better and I don’t get the complaint that it “fell off”. I’m have a few episodes to catch up with Kaiju No 8 though, but it’s great so far.

Finally! I was got up with the manga for a bit, but I’m a few chapter behind now. It’s much more than a John Wick clone.

I’ve always loved My Hero and never got the complaints, but what season 7 and onwards covers, I can definitely get the complaints for. Everything is pretty rushed moving forward. I just love the series so I don’t think it’s really bothered me, but I can see the issues.

But I think you were talking about the people saying it fell off before season 7, so I guess what I’m saying doesn’t really apply lol

I still need to start reading Sakamoto Days, but I’m excited for the anime. Hopefully the dub isn’t too far behind

MHA definitely fell off the last few seasons

Yeah it still just works for me. Lol I see that’s it’s a bit messy with how it plays out, so I think we’ll definitely see a lot of people complain as the anime reaches its conclusion. But there was no satisfying everyone anyway. I’m still all in

Oh man, get on that. The characters, comedy, and action are so well balanced.

But it's long running and they were busy working on the movie and changed positions etc so quality is sure to wane. Especially when they're trying to shove all the stuff in because you want to cover so much in such little time.

Funny that the anime for both Demon Slayer and MHA are having this kind of small-arc-right-before-the-big-final-brawl pseudo season at the same time

I’m curious what Shonen Jump is going to do soon with JJK/MHA close to ending, and One Piece on the path to the end. That’s 3 big hitters they’ll be losing.

I think if(?) Kagurabachi gets an anime adaptation, it has a chance to be a contender. But I am behind like 10 chapters, so I guess it could’ve taken a nosedive since then or it could still by the time there’s enough material to adapt. But I was hooked since day 1, so I hope it gets that recognition.

Also has anyone been watching Kaiju No. 8?

The manga/anime are just a good time for me. I get the complaints about how paint by numbers it is and stuff, but I always have fun time with it.

I've been keeping up with Kaiju No. 8 . Thought it was kind of a slow start for the first 3 eps or so but I've been loving the past few weeks

Dandadan, Undead Unluck, Kaiju No 8, Sakamoto Days, and Choujin X are their next big ones that have been ongoing for a while and don’t seem to be ending anytime soon. Sakamoto Days anime was just announced, Dandadan is coming later this year, Kaiju No 8 is airing now, and Undead Unluck finished season one recently. I think Shonen Jump is in good hands for a while.

I started JJK, but having hard time getting into it. On episode 12 now and it’s finally starting to pick up.

Read about 110 chapters of Demon Slayer over the last few days. Basically the third time I’ve read/watched/played the stories between the show, manga, and video game.

I was the same but the second half of the first season is really good. Season 2 is incredible.

I wouldn’t say any of those are even close to big 3 levels though. At least right now. They’ll get bigger with their anime obviously, but Undead Unluck was mostly a dud since Disney doesn’t even try to advertise the anime they license. I think Dandadan and Kaiju No. 8 have the best chance to blow up, but Dandadan has a mature rating so I think that hinders it a little.

But those are all worthy titles and I’d like to be wrong. They just don’t feel like they’ll turn into a big 3 manga/anime. Idk wtf I’m talking about either though lol
