Your Name is excellent and will likely remain one of my favorite movies of 2017 at the end of the year. Everyone go see it.
Besides the second Spongebob movie, this will be the first traditionally animated movie I've seen on the big screen since 2004 when the first Spongebob movie came out. I'm looking forward to the spectacle for sure
Here's my... um... top 10? I guess? Combining it into one ranked list would be really hard. old top 5: 1. Twelve Kingdoms (2002) 2. Mushishi (2005) 3. Gurren Lagann (2007) 4. Fullmetal Alchemist/Brotherhood (2003/2009) 5. Neon Genesis Evangelion (1995) new top 5: 1. Penguindrum (2011) 2. Puella Magi Madoka Magica (2011) 3. Steins;Gate (2011) 4. Princess Jellyfish (2010) 5. Yona of the Dawn (2014) 2011 was one hell of a year.
Where should i start with Anime, i used to read Manga but aside from that ive never touched an episode
Since you've never seen an anime, perhaps the best place to start would be Cowboy Bebop just to get your feet wet. Then after that, go with Neon Genesis Evangelion to get your mind blown. Can't go wrong with the classics. Pretty sure those two are universally accepted as must-sees. Here's some recommendations broken down by genre I did a while ago. It's a pretty long list (of my personal favorites, but, of course, I haven't seen everything; other peeps in the thread would be happy to send you some recs as well, I'm sure), so once you've finished Bebop and Eva, let us know if you have something more specific you're looking for, like series with a great soundtrack (like Bebop) or a series with big robot battles (like Eva), or something completely different.
Supernatural - Anime - MyAnimeList.net my faves from here (random order): death note angel beats! tokyo ghoul blue exorcist + sequels noragami + sequels one punch man (would easily put this under comedy as well) soul eater clannad + clannad after story no game no life (was really good but...also way too creepy). i'm halfway thru Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei, only on ep 3 for Mirai Nikki, ep 2 for Owari No Seraph
I still need to get around to watching Tokyo Ghoul. I have it, just never get around to actually watching it (like quite a lot of stuff, admittedly). Norgami is awesome and I need to read the manga. Bought a few volumes, but there's so many. NGNL was surprisingly fun to watch, but there's definitely an ick factor. Need to watch the first episode of The Eccentric Family S2 tonight. Excited.
