I’m probably the only one excited these are finally getting a dub, but is anyone else excited for the movies to come to theaters next month for the 15th anniversary regardless of which version you prefer?

Also speaking of January and dubs, the final episode of AoT will get its dub release on 1/7.

I like it. Some cheesy stuff, but it’s fun and the action is cool. Love Escanor and a lot of the other characters. Worth watching a couple episodes to see if you like it.

Horikoshi has been going crazy with the last few chapters of MHA. The art has just been insane during this fight.

I saw a lot of posters for the movies in Tokyo!

Can’t wait for the eventual online release, big fan of the series.

new original series from PA Works, who I'd say are behind only KyoAni when it comes to art style and animation quality.

they also had a movie come out in Japan last month, hope it's not too long before a US release

Just finished episode 10 of Frieren (trying to space it out so I can watch in chunks)…god damn. Wasn’t expecting the comfy elf show to go so hard

  10. My friend's watching that, said he really likes it so far

It's really great. beautiful art, relaxing...also really violent with some good action. Currently the highest rating on MAL, and the first season is running for 28 episodes which is nice

  12. What would you call a point in a series that people should reach before they decide to stop, and is there such a point in Demon Slayer? Just wondering. I like it so far, so I'm already invested, I just wanna know.

Also, what point would you say for other shows? The Soul Society arc in Bleach? The Chuunin Exams in Naruto?

People should always reach the ending of anything they consume, he says, having never finished Aggretsuko or World Trigger.

I’m lost, why would you just decide to stop something? I get it if the quality takes a nosedive, but those examples don’t make sense to me

  15. oh, no, not a nosedive, more like an early peak. Or like in the case of Steins;Gate, the halfway point where it reveals its true colors

Oh okay, gotcha. Hmm I don’t really think Demon Slayer ever has that moment then. I mean the ending of the manga is divisive for it maybe being too rushed, but besides where you may land on that, the story stays pretty consistent and the anime doesn’t include filler. It’s also not going to be very long. I think it’s worth sticking it out until the end.

The toothbrush scene in Monogatari is peak anime, and that's not a compliment. Everyone should get there so we can all be traumatized together.

(It actually is a really good and entertaining anime but it's also very hard to recommend because of all the questionable aspects.)

    I just finish things.

I don't really get this because unless it's tragically bad I don't see the point of stopping. Even MHA anime has a dip in quality, but it picks up a bit of steam again.

If you're liking it, keep watching, if you aren't, stop. That's pretty much as simple as it gets for me.

  20. I'm not talking about dips, quite the opposite actually. idk how to explain it better. Like, something will start out just pretty good, but then it'll get really, really good. Or in the case of Madoka, it starts out as just another magical girl show, but then something big happens at the end of the third episode. so you should at the very least reach that point before making up your mind about it.

I’m not asking because I think the show is perfect, so this is a genuine question because I’m mostly plagued with the stupid opinions I see on the subreddit, but what do you consider the dip(s) in MHA?

Okay this actually makes way more sense. I was just kinda going with it before. Lol

You’re probably already going to make your mind up by this point but I think the closest thing to what you may be thinking of would be the end of the movie (or the end of S2’s first cour depending on how you view the releases).

    OH

I see what you're asking now. I get it, I get it. My apologies.

A point to someone should get to in order to get hooked and really invested? Hmmm. I don't think Demon Slayer really has one for me. It just has a pretty good consistency throughout but it doesn't have an "oh shit!" moment in the beginning. There's a great episode late in the first season, but by then you've already watched like 17 episodes or something haha.

For 30 minute shows, mostly anime, I give it three episodes. For hour long shows, I give it two.

If you haven't sold me on the premise, even if there's a cool twist later, I don't understand why I'd waste my time for 6+ hours to maybe get a payoff.

Disclaimer: this is just for the anime. I haven't read the manga so I don't want to take anything away from that considering I've got no reference on it:

There was a period, I think it was season 4, where the style of the show changed for a bit. the part with the school festival felt odd, overly comical and goofy in some areas the animation also felt changed a bit during that season. From what I remember the studio had big staff changes, notably the director from season 1-3 to season 4.

But the part that got me majorly was the my villain academia arc I thought the pacing was off and it fell flat.

How did you feel about the ending to the latest season?

Thinking about this question and the first thing that comes to mind for me is Rascal Does Not Dream Of Bunny Girl Senpai. Make it to the end of the first arc, and if you're not fully onboard with the show, then I actually never want to see your face again. Get the hell outta here.
