Been thinking more about the new Digimon 02 The Beginning film. Love it the more that I think about it. I think its a bit edgelordy in its presentation of actually really dark parts of interpersonal relationships but it ultimately get its message across in a way that is nuanced and "sticks the landing" in the big way. I also love the way it mixed up the lore! It left the franchise open for more entries. On a second viewing, it would seem that the intro with the computer screen explicitly references [ ] that the events of the film create a new timeline where the epilogue to adventure doesn't happen (not everyone in the world gets a digimon partner). rewatching the heaven’s feel trilogy, the dub performances are solid but dang is this script/translation lazy and clunky
Five volumes out so far. It’s about a nerd that’s really into aliens and a popular girl that’s really into spirits. They meet and think the other is wrong and make a bet to disprove the other. The art is insane and it’s like an acid trip with a good wholesome friendship.
Here are my favorite pages just from volume one. The mangaka was the assistant to the mangaka of Chainsaw Man and you can definitely see the influence.
Dandadan is legitimately really good. I got into it by an accident when the first chapters came out and had no idea it was going to explode like this and now I'm way behind because I just stopped reading haha. That anime art is cool, but it just can't match the manga art. I'm excited for this. It's got a bunch of action but it's also just pretty funny.
I feel really bad for the animators at MAPPA because S2 of JJK has just been absolutely insane and I can’t imagine the god tier shit they’d be putting out if they just let the animators cook
The whole industry needs to be completely overhauled. It's fucking disgusting how they treat their employees.
Dandadaaan is insane, it's so fucking good. It's illegal that artwork on this level is weekly. Very glad science saru is taking the project, from the looks of the trailer they've nailed the sheer dynamism from the manga. Also, with this announcement, the Fire Punch crew now all have anime adaptations! The authors of Spy X Family, Hell's Paradise and Dandadaaan were all Tatsuki Fujimoto of Chainsaw Man fame's assistants during the serialisation of Fire Punch.
I realized the reason I like One Piece so much is because of the world building. There's always something or someone new, but then they might surprisingly know this person or have a connection to this person and they explore it. It always feels like characters are growing and evolving with the story. Not staying stagnate and the same like some tend to do. Episode 320
I'm about five episodes into AoT S4 and... I think I skipped AoT S3 pt 2. I thought I had finished everything pre-timeskip. Why does S3 have a pt 2.
that’s brutal lol, the total culmination of the series up to that point they had two cours in s3, but every streaming site just has it as a single “season 3” now, so I’m not sure how you skipped past it?
Finally started Blue Eye Samurai on Netflix to take a break from One Piece. It’s really good! Animation is great, story and pacing is great. Pretty brutal. Definitely check it if you haven’t yet.
all right, finished the battle of shiganshina, only a few more episodes of season 3 to go. s4e5 kiiinda spoiled s3e18 but that's fine.
I watch the dub, so I just got episode 17 of JJK today. It really sucks the animation took a hit, but it is insane what these animators did at only 30% output. It’s just miles above most other shows even unfinished. So yeah, screw MAPPA
