Yeah that’s ridiculous because the animation holds up better than pretty much every other show from that era

"Cooked" in this context means something different from other contexts I've seen it used in ("let him cook") I'm assuming But yeah, that sounds terrible. Is there any precedent for Japanese workers to go on strike or anything similar?
What is the typical final step of producing an episode? The thread says they are often working on the ep until hours before air, but I truly can't fathom what kind of work that would be with a show where the animation/sound production is so detailed. Like obviously the episode was in development months/years before air, but I don't what the order of steps of production typically are
Since ya'll are talking about animation quality and such, I will say around episode 206/207 of One Piece the quality of the animation and fidelity went HD and it looks great.
That’s what fans consider the worst arc, so you’ll love the rest. I liked Skypiea, but it’s not my favorite.
Really? That's surprising, at first I liked it better than Alabasta, but by the end I think I liked Alabasta more for sure. It wasn't horrible. The funny thing is, their mini arcs are amazing.. The Naval Fortress Arc was amazing. The pacing and I laughed pretty hard a few times. "Condoriano!" Everyone I talk to hates Usopp, but he's hilarious and so is Luffy.
The worst (major) OP arc is definitely either Fishman Island or Punk Hazard. the issue with Skypeia and Dressrosa is that they both drag way too long, even by OP standards. They’re not bad though, and Skypeia is incredibly important lore-wise later on. Skypeia also has the misfortune of being followed by Water 7/Enies Lobby, which along with Marineford and now Wano, is generally considered one of the best parts of the series. It’s the arc people point to when they unironically say “you have to get like ~300 eps in for it to get *really* good” lol
That was my issue with Skypiea, just went a little too long. They seemed to almost retrace steps. Currently on episode 209 and it’s dealing with Davey Jones battles where they can take crewmen based on winning/losing challenges. Idk if it’s a manga arc or not, but it’s fun. Really just enjoying the new HD visuals. I’m looking forward to them getting a new crew member whenever that happens.
Long Ring Long Land actually is manga canon, even though it definitely doesn’t feel like it and never gets brought back in somehow It’s also a light comic reprieve before a whole bunch of bad shit goes down lol
Can’t lie. I put this on my new car like a month ago haha. I have Naruto’s demon fox seal in the other corner.
