Since I got into it, I've really loved the characters and their designs, the wildly ocsillating tone between seriousness and zaniness, and just the sheer lunacy of the plot. Beings called Spirits appear in the world and inadvertently cause devastating quakes that lead two groups to form: one that wants them dead and another that wants to understand them and protect them. The latter group is headed by the little sister of the protagonist, Shido, who learns that he inexplicably has the ability to seal the power of Spirits if they fall in love with him and willingly allow him to seal their powers with a kiss. And so his quest begins to find and date the Spirits! As his sister Kotori likes to say, "Let our date begin!", spoken in the tones of a commander (which she is) going to war (which she is). I dunno, I love how crazy it sounds and that by the end of the story, everything actually makes some kind of logical sense as to why things work like they do. And some of these spirits have very sad backstories.
You’ve convinced me to move it further up my list that it already was. I’ll probably start it this week!
Aniplex uploaded a couple live Kesoku Band (Bocchi The Rock) performances. It's just the Kita voice acting singing with an actual band, but these songs rule. Also the two part compilation movie comes out in Spring and Summer 2024...and then hopefully season 2
Fly Me to the Moon Manga Goes on Hiatus After 'Shocking' Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter Love the idea that other mangakas are so shocked that they have to step away for a while.
Shit I really want to know why it’s so shocking. I’ll start that manga from where season 2 ends I guess
There's a show called Frieren airing this season that's pretty darn comfy and sweet, it's a fantasy about the journey of an elf mage. I feel that it avoids the trappings of most fantasy anime and the premise is pretty neat. Recommend so far 6 episodes in.
Frieren is great! I need to catch back up on the manga - it took a hiatus and just came back recently.
I've got Frieren on my watchlist and have heard its great so far, but I'll probably check it out after it airs since I'm currently watching like 5 other airing shows. Undead Unluck has been a highlight for me this season
I only had time to watch the first two Pluto episodes. I’ve never seen a more faithful adaptation to source material. Scene for scene, line for line. “Anime onlys” should be blown away by this.
-Humans trapped in walls by titans -Humans learn that certain people can transform into titans at will -Humans use transformer to take back lost territory from titans -Humans learn that the outside world is normal, and they are the weird ones -Humans start war with rest of the world -Transformer human turns into titan god, decides to use powers to destroy all of outside world for the sake of saving his friends -His friends decide they don’t want this and set out to defeat him -Last ep ended right when the final fight was about to start
I’m only two episodes into Frieren but it fucking rules. Kind of gives me Violet Evergarden vibes for some reaso.
2nd season of JJK is just too good. Sucks that this is probably the best arc of the series though. There’s still a bunch of cool to come later but the following arcs definitely take a dip in quality, at least imo
I don't trust anyone's opinions on arcs ever since everyone under the sun said the Chimera Ant arc is the best of Hunter x Hunter when it's mid
Chimera Ant arc has some exceptional moments and wonderful payoff but I'd be lying if I said the majority of it wasn't a massive slog to read through. I do love HxH but I also tend to find that a lot of arcs in the series way overstay their welcome.
