Like, is he a real thing and just a total weirdo or is he a shared hallucination among all of them? Who knows...

Started watching Wandering Witch and holy hell, this show is a lot darker than I expected.

The third episode is two stories. In one an entire town gets turned into plant people, no resolution.

In the other, a guy fails to understand the servant girl in his household is a slave and gives her a jar of other people's happiness (it makes sense in context) he collected as a present to cheer her up. It's heavily implied this sends her further into despair, and he's just oblivious.

The whole story is uncomfortably awkward and it's clear the vibe is way off.

I started Sakamoto Days on the Shonen Jump app and I can’t stop reading. 130 chapters so far. One of Japan’s best assassins quits, gets married, has a kid, and runs a convenience store. He gets other assassins that try to kill
him to work at the store and they all become bffs. It’s a mix of slice of life and action with an overarching story as it goes. Awesome characters so far.

Every panel and piece of artwork I've seen from Sakamoto Days looks amazing and that premise is right up my alley

I finished main series Bleach without filler over the weekend and hopped right into TYBW, holy crap the jump in quality between the Fullbring Arc to TYBW is insane (Just made it thru episode 8 last night). Easily the best the show has ever looked and sounded. I love that they have all new versions of the classic soundtrack. The storytelling is paced really well with some great callbacks to moments throughout the entire series. Some questionable cgi here and there but I couldn't give a shit with how great everything else is.

The choreography is so fucking good and I just love how completely nonplussed the general public are in the face of all this crazy shit happening around them.

Speaking of nonplussed people, The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today is amazing.

Still watching Wandering Witch. Tonally this show is all over the place.

Episodes 3 and 4 were dark, bleak even, and then the next four episodes have been bright, sunny, and fun.

It's my understanding that the next episode is going to be pitch black. Bowels of the earth kind of darkness.

Watched episodes 9 and 10. 10 was fine and fun, but 9... dear God.

Elaina meets another witch who was forced to execute her best friend after said friend became a serial killer.

The friend had suffered years of abuse at the hands of her uncle, whom she was forced to live with after her parents were murdered, and the experience broke her.

Reasoning that if the parents never died, her friend would never have to suffer her fate, the witch has Elaina help her go back in time to save the parents.

Except it turns out the friend was already broken from abuse she secretly suffered from the parents, and she was the one who murdered them all along.

Since the entire trip was a waste, impossible to redo, and the friend was already trying to kill both the witch and Elaina, the witch was forced to execute her friend again. Graphically.

The witch subsequently used magic to erase her friend from her memories, effectively washing her hands of the whole thing permanently.

Meanwhile, Elaina, now the only one who knew this happened, left the scene a sobbing, traumatized wreck, upset that she was powerless to prevent any of this.

One of the things I both love and hate about anime is the mood whiplash. You think you’re in for a fun cute romp and next thing you know, people are dead and everyone is crying. You never know what each episode will bring.

Still thinking about this episode I watched and the full horror it presented.

See, the one witch collected her own blood to cast the spell that sent them back in time, so she was already anemic. This is why they could only cast the spell once.

And then her "friend" stabbed her quite a bit. When Elaina fled, the witch was barely speaking and it's unclear if boosting her magic by sealing her memories did anything about her actual wounds.

So, what I'm saying is there's a real good possibility that the witch not only ended up killing her friend a second time trying to save her, but may have also died herself in the process.

    It's... really fucking bleak.

Zom100 doing that thing where it takes every zombie trope known to man and using it in the best possible way is amazing. I’m probably going to finish up the 5 episodes tonight.

After the rollercoaster of emotion that was Wandering Witch, I need some warm vibes, and so I'm rockin' out with Bocchi. I've seen so many clips, it's almost like I've already watched it, but I'm still loving it. Gotoh-chan heals my soul.

    Five episodes deep now.

Manager: Hey kid. I see you, okay?
    Bocchi: (freaks out)

The truest interaction in the show thus far.

I’m probably the only one that cares but the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga started today. I’m weird and enjoyed the original series and the manga canon episodes of the anime. So I’m all in for the new series

Japan always goes hard. The number of songs I've heard from anime performed by cast members that are total jams is through the roof.

Today’s chapter of MHA is seven pages and nothing happened. What a joke.
