So they can set up a bonding moment between Luffy and Zoro where Zoro shouts out his finishing move during the final battle of the season.
Kneejerk answer: because American filmmakers are embarrassed by the popular content they feel compelled to adapt by market forces and rarely understand it Measured answer: it's a cheeky means of preparing western audiences who have only watched live action shows and are unfamiliar with shonen tropes that the majority of the characters they're about to encounter call out their moves when they fight
Finished Vinland S2 last night. Might be one of my favorite seasons of anime I've ever watched. Incredible character development/growth made up for the slower pacing and lack of major action that was in S1. I wasn't clamoring for more action at all throughout the whole thing tbh. Patiently waiting for S3 in like 2026
god I hope there's a season 3 reception is lukewarm in japan so it seems like they're marketing to international audiences explicitly now japan doesn't deserve it
s3 of Vinland Saga would actually probably have more violence than s2 lol though the manga is on what would be season 4 rn and there’s been no violence at all
Heavenly Delusion fucking rules, wish there was SOME reveal or answers in the season finale though. Hopefully we get more seasons. Might start the manga from where it left off
Just finished Heavenly Delusion this weekend as well with the last 4 eps. Really wish they went all out with a longer 24-26 ep season. I was really getting hooked with those last few. One of my favorite shows of the year so far either way. Beautifully animated, the post-apocalyptic setting is fun to explore, and I love the dynamic between Maru & Kiruko. Excited to watch more when it eventually comes.
Hisoka's crotch glowing and the ass focus on Gon, in Hunter x Hunter. Weird, along with gross and disturbing.
The evidence so far looks like it's pointing towards a reboot, from the title, the trailer being of Lawrence and Holo's first meeting, and it being so long since the original series. But they did get the same cast and they're promoting it as a new adventure, so who knows. The marketing is all confused.
Yeah, that's the direction I was leaning until I saw the "new adventure" bit. Didn't know about the voice cast. Would prefer some sort of sequel over just the same thing again.
Me too, cause a reboot runs the risk of stopping at the same point or earlier. If they're committing to a full adaptation, that's one thing, but they haven't said anything.
