I'm just gonna watch all of post-timeskip AoT all at once

 

Just finished Slow Loop, enjoyed it. Nice and chill, recommend it if you're looking for something like Yuru Camp

there's also a Bocchi the Rock cameo, so that's tight.

 

The trailer for Reborn as a Vending Machine obviously shows it’s an isakei, but the plot description reads like a body horror movie

After dying in a traffic accident, I find myself standing near an unfamiliar lake. My body won't move, I can't hear my voice, and when I try to shout in confusion, words that I never expected come out! "Get one free with a winner." I-it seems I've turned into a vending machine...! I can only do what actual vending machines can. It's impossible to move by myself, and there's no way for me to have any meaningful conversation-how am I going to survive some fantasy world's dungeon like this?!

 

There are a few others like that and I just love how dumb and absurd they are.

We need more isekai horrors

 

I love how Japan never runs out of possibilities when it comes to reincarnating people into random jobs and objects. Can't wait for I Can't Believe I Reincarnated Into A Middle-Aged Dinosaur But I'm Still A NEET!*

Watched the first 9 episodes of Eden of the East today, haven’t had an anime grab me like this for a while. Definitely scratching that Steins;Gate itch I’ve been chasing.

there’s a local record store and they legit have a hentai section and it’s just out in the open no hiding it or nothing it’s wild

 

So maybe this is controversial or I just spend too much time on the internet where the worst of the worst seem to reside, but I don't have a problem with hentai at all, like sex is sex and porn is porn and that's fine, but it's like when people start making stuff of like Misty from Pokemon or loli stuff like that and their like "she's fictional, it's not creepy!" and I just pull back and say "but it is creepy, right?"

Idk, maybe I'm not explaining it well, but like I just don't understand the world sometimes and I feel like the weird one for the way I interpret things that a lot of other people just seem to find harmless

 

It's absolutely creepy. Hang on to that feeling.

 

It’s super creepy. Anime in general tends to sexualize minors and it’s incredibly uncomfortable and fucked up.

And it’s at least partially because too many fans are into that shit. I went to the Bocchi the Rock subreddit to see if any Sickhack songs were released and it was almost entirely horny posts about a very non-sexual show about highschoolers. It’s a problem.

 

Okay, I'm really glad I'm not alone in this. Because sometimes I just want a nice office romance and it's just surrounded by creepy that's all super popular and I'm like, well, I guess I'M the weird one haha

It's funny you say that because that EXACT thing happened to me with Bocchi.

 

This is a weird side tangent that just fills my head sometimes, but something that really irks me is that so much of the art for some of that stuff is good! Like it's mind-blowing to me because I have no artistic talent at all and that's what they choose to use it on!

Like some of these people could be making really, really cool and interesting pieces of work! Makes me mad, man. I wish I were a good artist (I know I could technically just starting drawing everyday but let's be real).

 

Interesting exercise. I don't think I could list 8 haha

 

I'm not sure I completely understand the premise, but if we're just talking anime that offer insight into my general tastes...

This is kind of hard. I've been swapping between a few series for my last entry, but I'm settling on Working!! because I didn't really have any examples of that genre on my list.

I also almost put the Monogatari series, but that's an anime that is kind of... very difficult to recommend for a wide variety of reasons I don't really want to get into right now.
