It's just not great. That's how. I hear the next arc will be wild though.

Are we talking about the same season? The one where everyone gets in a massive brawl with the main antagonist and gets their asses handed to them? The one that is basically the culmination of the whole series up to this point? What issues do you have with it lol

It didn't even feel like they got their asses handed to them. It felt like they were doing well then making stupid decisions and a dumb twist prevented them from progressing. I don't care about Dabi at all. Twice's death was legitimately the only one that I cared about. The others were just fluff. They felt hollow.
There's a lot of other stuff I don't enjoy about it either because a lot of it just feels like it's spinning its wheels. The next arc looks like a drastic departure from the norm though, but I may be done with the show because it's just not hitting.

    so much for them! Prestigious

i like some of the villain stuff in that arc, and it does really well as a payoff of the "my villain academia" arc. i just havent liked the pace of the series for a while which feels like its going through the motions, and imo the action has suffered most because of it. you can feel like these are not the final fights but the series is trying to up the ante on the stakes but it all feels like deja vu. to me the most effective of these big clashes has been all might vs one for all and i feel like the series never quite got back to the peak of that arc.

dabi is a great example of the series spending sooo much time on something that you know is not getting resolved here. sure its this huge battle but the whole thing feels like a setup for another huge battle, which it ultimately is. this is all typical of very popular series that run for a long time

the twice storyline is very good though and i dont think its a coincidence that its one of the few things in this arc that has a sense of finality.

Thank you! You put into words what I couldn't.

I get it. All for One is the big bad, but when it just feels like they're treading the same ground over and over again it just wears on me. The setups and fights knowing nothing is going to get resolved is frustrating after a while. Like okay, we had them lose them before and now they're going to lose to them again because they still have to discover their powers and how to be real heroes. What's that? The impossibly strong villain just became even MORE impossibly strong? That just feels lazy to me.

I'm glad things are getting shaken up. I'll check in later.

Wait. Hang on. Season 7 is supposed to be the final season? The manga is that short and only covers this storyline?

I did a Google search and Season 7 hasn't even been announced yet, has it? I saw some articles speculating it'd be the final season, but that's only because the creator has said he's getting closer to the end of the story. But there's no confirmation on how long that will actually take.

Oh okay good because otherwise this pacing, which already isn't great, would be very bad

The pacing in this last act of the manga has been heavily criticized, so your mind is definitely not going to change haha

That's how a lot of the big anime series usually seem to go. The protagonists keep getting battered until they come out on top eventually haha. I love it though. Give me all the over the top battles because they are super fun to watch. I do enjoy a good storyline too of course. Really into the Todoroki family stuff and this Deku one is off to a good start imo. The most I've been interested in Deku in a while. And like mentioned before MHA doesn't seem to be going beyond Shigaraki as Deku's largest enemy so there's going to be a bit of back and forth until the show ends haha

What a bummer. They created such a cool world and this is the only thing they focus on?

Isn't the side manga Vigilantes pretty cool?

I still love the manga despite its faults so I’d still recommend it personally. But yeah, Vigilantes is also really good

I've read the manga and even though it isn't good it's very entertaining because of the main character just being such a smug guy that purposely pisses everyone off for the the right reasons

So apparently all the terrible Isekai and romance manga all got animes so I will probably watch most of them.

Almost none of them are above 6/10, but they're enjoyable enough.

There's one where it's like a high school requirement to be paired up in a pretend marriage and live with another student for practice. It's dumb and it's all about everyone loving someone else's partner or not admitting their own feelings, but it's interesting.

There's also one where someone gets banished from the hero's party and goes to live out his life in peace and that's just dumb but fun.

Oh, are you talking about More Than A Married Couple, But Not Quite Lovers?

That and Banished From The Hero's Party are both totally on my watchlist, and I'm not ashamed of it either. Dumb fun is dumb fun.

More than A Married Couple has some good parts and enjoyable characters. I don't know how the anime is, but it's definitely not bad.

So there's like 5 different "banished from the hero's party" type manga, but I'm 90% sure this is the one I haven't actually read.

Also I'm just waiting for them to adapt 勇者に全部奪われた俺は勇者の母親とパーティを組みました!or as it would be in English "The Hero Took Everything from Me, So I Partied with the Hero’s Mother!"
