Jujutsu Kaisen Anime Season 2 to Run for Half a Year Without Breaks

I'm excited for this.

 

soul society arc was pretty good but jesus christ bleach is a fucking slog after that. i'm still going to finish it so i can say i read the big 3 but this is just miserable

 

Four episodes away from finishing Guilty Crown, and Christ, this story got bleak as fuck.

 

How far are you? Like a week ago you were still in the soul society arc lol. The Arrancar arc is much longer and has several filler arcs that split up the anime. But when it gets to the peak of it, it’s easily the best part of the series. The initial phase of the group invading Hueco Mundo is a slog though, doesn’t really take off until Aizen makes his move

 

I loved all of Bleach but the Soul Society was the peak for me. One of my favourite shonen manga arcs.

 

I stopped about 300 episodes into Bleach and 175 episodes into Shippuden. I never started watching HXH, One Piece, or JJBA

 

It's kind of wild to me that AoT and MHA have four or five distinct seasons. The way I remember it, you either got two 26-episode seasons or you had filler arcs and went on forever

 

i'm about 420 chapters in. ichigo just had another ass pull power up and is fighting aizen. i've flown through this series in like a week because so much of it is just fight after fight after fight that i'm just not invested in

 

The modern norm of only animating the manga canon - even if that means 1-2yr gaps of material - is so much better than how the big 3 were handled. Either endless filler that exists to kill time for the manga canon to finish a whole arc (which maybe wouldn’t be an issue if the filler was ever at all interesting or even remotely well animated), or the One Piece option of spreading thin every single 10-pg chapter into 20min of animation, which makes even the canon feel like a slog to sit through

 

It doesn’t sound like you’re even invested at all if you’re literally skipping all of the Captains vs. Espada fights, so you should probably just quit while you’re ahead lol

 

i'm not skipping anything, i'm reading literally every chapter. there's just not much reason to get invested in these fights

 

I much prefer seasons. MHA and AoT seasons are very distinct. I feel like the rest of the big three blends together.

 

I feel like the thing that Jojo has that makes it different is even though most season are between like 30-50 episodes every family member arc is different than the last one

 

HxH is only like 150 episodes and it's all killer no filler.

 

I wasn't aware Jojo seasons varied in length, I only know each focused on a different family member.

Greed Island is one of many 10/10 HxH arcs.

 

I feel like I’ve said it before but I just hate how long the chimera ant arc is

 

it's so fucking long but it feels worth it in the end i think

 

Yeah I think that arc has the best payoffs in all of anime. It's a long arc but every section is fun, interesting and necessary.

 

The first half of the arc is long but it isn't the issue. It's when the raid starts and each episode spans like 5 seconds in-universe time while you just listen to a narrator talk the entire time. To throw that concept out there 5 arcs into a series is absurd in the first place, but it's also just very lazy, weird storytelling. Gon vs. Pitou and Meruem vs. Netero and Killua using lightspeed -- very cool moments and all, but they don't make up for all the uselessness around it.

Yorknew City is by far the best, not even close, then the election arc. Worst is either the hunter exam or greed island, probably the hunter exam because it's the one without any interesting nen stuff
